That night both Kitana and Liu Kang felt the voice of Ermac in their heads. Whispering to them, he informed them that they would both be changed over the next few days. Shao Kahn had survived, and was going to punish them for their impudence by making them the next generation of his armies.
Smiling, they both saw him lean towards them and tap the on the forehead, declaring that it was Kahn's passing gift.
Both Liu Kang and Kitana shot bolt upright in bed. Looking at each other, they immediately saw what was wrong. Liu Kang had no adam's apple, whereas Kitana did, and Liu Kang's eyes glowed orange. Liu Kang opened his mouth, when Kitana put her finger to it.
"Your Hair..." She said.
Sure enough, Liu Kang's hair was growing longer, down to his shoulder, while Kitana's was retracting into her skull. Grasping at their scalps, Kitana looked at Liu Kang, a worried look in her eyes.
"We're changing into other people. But my hair is longer than that. We-re changing into someone else!"
