Jake's mother was very sad. Her father had passed away, and it was her job to go through his old belongings. Jake was determined to help out his mom, especially since he liked his grandfather very much.
While his mother was busy cleaning out the kitchen, Jake climbed up the stairs and emptied out the attic. He carried all the old boxes down the narrow stairs, and decided to go through everything once he had everything set in the garage.
He found an old box containing a golden soccer trophy! When he asked his mother about it, she explained that grandpa was an outstanding soccer player back in the day. This got Jake's attention, since he played tennis, baseball and... soccer!
Jake decided to take the old dusty trophy to his own bedroom and he set it down on his desk. He just happened to have soccer practice later that day, so he took a shower and put on his jersey, shin guards and cleats. His cleats were brand new, and this was his first time wearing them!
He still had five minutes before his mom would take him to the field, so he grabbed a cloth and started polishing grandpa's old trophy. Suddenly, the trophy began to glow while he was holding it in his hands! Then, without warning, and blue glowing light surrounded the trophy, it shot from the top of the trophy and circled Jake before it split in two and zapped Jake's cleats!
"Hey... WHOA!" Jake gasped, as he felt his new Nike cleats tingle all over. "What the hell was THAT?"
Suddenly, Jake's cleats came alive! Jake felt his legs walk over to the corner of his room, where the soccer ball was sitting in the corner. He tapped it with his right cleat, kicking it up into the air. Then, he began dribbling the ball, alternating feet.
"Hey! What... How...?" Jake stuttered as he realized that he now had amazing soccer skills!
He dribbled and juggled the soccer ball with amazing precision and accuracy and ball control, something he had never been able to do at this level!!
Finally, his mother called out for him, and Jake run out to the garage. What would happen on the soccer field, now that he had living, possessed cleats on his feet?
