Jake had a tremendous soccer match, all thanks to his amazing new cleats! First, he passed the ball to his friend Andy, who happened to be standing just in front of the opponent’s goal. Andy passed the ball straight into the goal and he scored! Jake got the credit for the amazing assist!
Just five minutes later, Jake was running towards the goal and someone shot the ball high over his head when he leaped into the air and surprised everyone by rotating his body upside-down in mid-air, with his legs pointing upwards towards the sky, and his right cleat making contact with the ball at the right moment, kicking the ball straight into the goal with one hard shot! The goalie was caught off-guard and the crowd went crazy over Jake’s stunning bicycle-kick, which he had never used before!
All his teammates went nuts as Jake landed on his feet and ran towards the corner. It was the most stunning goal ever and everybody wondered how he pulled it off since he had never done that before. Jake just shrugged and laughed as they continued to play the game until the ref blew the whistle.
And during the second half, Jake received the ball off his head and knocked it in the goal, scoring his second goal of the day. A few minutes later, he blasted the ball from midfield, high over all the players, and making the ball bounce high over the goalie but it still bounced into the goal. All the players were stunned by this, Jake’s third goal of the day!
Jake was the hero of the match and all the teammates piled on top of him after the final whistle was blown. Once he got home, he sat down at the edge of his bed, after drinking some water, and he just stared at his cleats before taking his shower.
“Wow… I played so well today… But it must be because of my magic cleats!” he sighed, as he started to take them off.
Strangely enough, the cleats refused to come off his feet! The harder he pulled, the tighter they gripped his foot. And the laces wouldn’t get untied, either. After 3 minutes of trying, he just put his feet on the floor and looked at his cleats.
“I gotta take a shower… I’m all smelly and sweaty… I gotta take you guys off… PLEASE come off my feet!” Jake said calmly, pleading with his magical cleats and realizing that there was something magical about them.
Suddenly, the laces came untied, completely on their own, and the cleats loosened their grips on his feet and they fell off, one by one.
“Holy crap! It’s true! These cleats are like… ALIVE!” Jake gasped as he reached down and picked them up.
He set them down and ran into the bathroom so he could take a shower. He undressed and took a nice shower, coming back out 10 minutes later. He put on some shorts and a white t-shirt with athletic socks so he could get comfortable.
He just sat at his chair when his cleats magically shuffled over to where he was sitting. His feet were hanging out from his chair, just a few inches above the ground. Then, without warning, the cleats magically leaped up, and each cleat attached itself to his feet!
“HEY!” Jake gasped, as he looked down and realized that he was suddenly wearing his soccer cleats again! “I didn’t want to wear you guys! I’m not playing socc—“
Suddenly Jake felt like he was forced to leap to his feat! A soccer ball popped up out of nowhere and he started to kick, bounce and dribble the ball off his knees, ankles and cleats in his bedroom!
“Hey… No… Wait… Stop! STOP!” Jake gasped as he spun around and juggled the soccer ball for almost two minutes before he dropped the ball on the floor. His cleats wanted to play!
“JAKE! DINNER’S READY!” his mom shouted from the kitchen.
“I gotta go eat! And, mom will kill me if I wear cleats in the house! So, please come off my feet! PLEASE!” Jake asked his cleats again.
For the second time, the cleats came untied and loosened, falling off his feet, allowing jake to run downstairs to eat.
Finally, after a few hours had gone by, Jake came back to the room after having eaten and watched TV in the living room. He crawled in bed and turned off the light. He was sound asleep when the cleats leaped on the bed and attached to his feet.
This time, however, Jake started having amazing dreams about playing in a huge stadium before thousands of people and scoring goals with people watching him all over the world on TV…
