Your eyes went wide as you couldn't believe what he said.

"I'm sorry," he gently consoled. After a pause he continued, "When that truck T-boned your car, you and your sister took the worst of it. She seemed fine at first, aside from the injuries I mentioned, but suddenly she red-lined. We tried everything, but it was a brain aneurysm, a severe one. Your body was next to her having been damaged beyond repair."

"Except, your head was untouched, in perfect shape. It was obvious to do a transplant. As siblings, you were a perfect match," Dr. Kerry explained. "Fortunately you mom was not badly hurt and was instantly agreeable to the swap so, at least, one of you would live."

"Actually, parts of both of you," Dr. Saunders added.

"What the fuck are you ..." you started to yell and sit up at their crazy story, but your throat was too sore, and you felt so weak you couldn't really move.

"Don't try to talk or move. There was a tube in your throat during the operation. It needs to recover as well as the rest of your body."

"I can't be," you breathed almost inaudibly. You didn't feel like your body was that different. Dr. Saunders seemed to read your thoughts.

At first, you thought you were just looking at yourself. The head was bandaged, and the face was bruised, a bit swollen, but the features looked much like your own. You didn't feel any hair under the bandage. Tabitha had beautiful long hair.

Again as if reading your mind, Dr. Saunders explained, "We had to shave her head, of course, but it will grow back in no time. Her young body will regenerate quickly. Those bruises should disappear in a week or less, and you'll be up and about, perhaps with a wig initially."

As you gazed at the image before you, you thought more about Tabitha. She had blue eyes to your brown. ... The eyes in the mirror were blue, and the features were much softer just like her.

You gasped, and the mirror was withdrawn. Unable to focus on anything, you couldn't even comprehend that this could even be possible.

"How?"

"It's rather complicated what with what parts we moved and what is still your sister. It's better that you get your rest now, and we'll explain it all when you're better" Dr. Kerry tells you.

You saw him doing something with the drip bag, and started to get very drowsy then dropped back into unconsciousness thinking it all must be a dream.

When you wake again, you felt ...
