Chapter #7

Randall, your best friend.

"So we told Randall."

"We know how close you two have been, and he's almost like family," your mother adds.

Randall. Cool, you think and your body actually tingles at the thought.

Randall's been your best bud since grade school. The two of you have spent more time together than probably even with your own families. His family is a little "dysfunctional" to say the least, so he's often been over at your place, and your parents have accepted him as another son, and that's great because he's almost like a brother to you. Although, ...

You start to consider how much a prankster he is and how he and Tabitha have never gotten along. It's almost like fire and water, or more like fire and gunpowder whenever they came in contact. How is this going to work with "Tim" being gone and you now being three years younger than Randall? You can imagine how much fun he's going to have at your expense and just hope he can keep it under control and not give anything away in public.

However, you really would like someone to be able to confide in, so it will be great to have him around. Besides, he is rather cute.

Where the heck did that come from? you wonder.

Before you can hold that thought, your mom continues, "We've briefed him on the whole situation."

"And legal requirements," your dad quickly adds looking over at your mom. "I'm not one-hundred percent convinced, and the way he acts ..."

"Has been very good. Randall's grown and matured quite a bit, just like Tim has ... did ... was."

Suddenly your mom gets all choked up, and your dad hugs her letting her sob on his shoulder while he looks at you.

He mouths, "We have to make this work - for your mother," then softly consoles her while pulling out some tissues from his pocket.

Your mouth opens, but you can't think of anything to say to help. How do you console your mom for your own death when she knows it was really your sister that died and you just happen to have taken over her body? The thought still seems too weird; you can hardly believe it. You wouldn't actually except for the fact you can now feel how different this body is. Budding breasts with much more sensitive nipples and nothing between your legs. You haven't even seen or touched any of those, but it all seems quite normal to you. That again makes the situation more bizarre.

Tears immediately form in your eyes, too, as you consider the loss of your brother ... sister. It's all becoming more and more confusing as you start to sob uncontrollably. Something you haven't done since you were very little. Before you know it, the three of you are holding each other on your bed trying to let the liquid grief flow out.

Gradually, you all stop sniffling and become aware that someone else has come into the room.
