Chapter #4

Trisha Harper, a girl you know

by: Wordsmitty ✍️ Author IconMail Icon
You had met Trish a little over a year ago when you stopped by a bar after a very long and grueling meeting. You only shared some stories and a couple drinks that evening before heading home. You would have forgotten her except a couple weeks later you saw her when going out for lunch, finding out she worked just a few blocks away. You ended up eating together that day and then on a weekly basis. It was great to have someone to talk to who shared interests and not always be discussing work or family.

As the relationship started, it was all platonic, and you're not sure which one of you started the playful flirting, but you both felt the attraction. It was going to happen, not that you and your wife, Sarah, had grown distant or having problems. In fact, that relationship, and sex life with her, were very strong. It was as if you had found a twin soul-mate. One that had to be a secret from everyone, of course, which made it all the more intense.

Now, here you are with those two combined into one woman - sort of. In some respects, you felt glad this had happened. It took away the guilt - somewhat. It would be easy to love your wife in this body, too, not that Sarah didn't keep herself well fit for her age. That's one reason you had such a glorious sex life even after twenty years of marriage. It had also inspired you to stay fit, which may have been what kept you able to keep up with Trish's physical intensity.

As you gazed happily at her - Sarah's mind in Trish's body, the hidden facts and doubts about this started to darken your mood. If Sarah lived Trish's life, she might find out your indiscretion. Perhaps she would only hear about those lunches you shared where others saw you. They were innocent enough. But what if Trish told her friends, friends that would soon be your wife's friends? What of those who saw you at Trish's apartment building and might mention you?

Would Sarah still love you if she found out?

Sarah was always a reasonable woman. You both had some rough times during your marriage, Once you had come close to straying, although you thought you were just being friendly, but Sarah recognized what that other woman was really after. You were honest with Trish from the start saying you'd never leave Sarah or your family. She seemed to have accepted that and never tried to break you up. But would Sarah believe all this and . . . would she forgive you, especially now that she is Trish.

Your mind didn't have time to think this through as Sarah began to move and mumble coming back to consciousness. At least the doctors had explained everything to her earlier to make sure her mind was intact and fully functional. Then they had sedated her for the last day so the transplant would finish its healing and ensure there was no rejection. Now it was just you and her to discuss what the future would be, and you had to figure what about your past with her new body to tell her.
