"I'll save you the trouble," a voice speaks from behind you. In front of you, Jessica's eyes are wide with shock and as you turn around, you realise why as well. Standing in the doorway, holding one of the pen devices, is clearly Jessica.
It isn't quite her though. The voice is almost the same but she looks... older somewhat. Maybe a few years older than the Jessica you know but it's unmistakeably her. But there's something definitely different about her. You realise it's her eyes. They look aged and weary, a sharp contrast to her youthful appearance. Even her clothes, which look like something out of a recent fashion magazine, do nothing to hide that she has this world weariness around her; like she's been through a war or hell or worse.
"You there," she says pointedly while pointing the pen at Jessica, "Take her skin off now before I make you take it off."
Jessica for her credit acts as if she doesn't know what the old Jessica is talking about "What do you mean? I'm Jes..."
"One more word and you'll spend your life as a skin. Take it off now and I'll let you walk away from this with your life." One look at her eyes and you and the alleged imposter know that the visitor isn't joking around.
Your Jessica mutters a little "okay" and starts to pull at her neck gingerly. She fumbles a bit and you notice that she's shaking for some reason but she eventually gets her hand into the seam. You watch in wonder as your girlfriend's face deforms and stretches and you almost scream when you see the face underneath mask.
It's Jimmy.
Your best friend Jimmy.
Well more precisely, it's Jimmy wearing your girlfriend's skin like a costume.
It's a disturbing sight to see; Jimmy's head emerging from Jessica's neck. From the neck down, he was your gorgeous darling girlfriend, the one who you loved dearly and cared for, but from the neck up, it was your prankster best friend.
You almost gag as you remember what you did to Jessica back when you had come over, well back when you still thought it was truly Jessica.
"I'm sorry dud-"
Jimmy doesn't get to finish as he collapses into a pile of skin and clothes. Clearly the older Jessica just wanted another target to hit and didn't really intend to let whoever was wearing Jessica go.
You turn around and raise your hands, or rather, Trish's hands in surrender but you're surprised to see the older Jessica come forward and give you an enormous hug.
Her voice is soft and strained as she whispers "It's been too long since I've seen another David. I'm so glad to see you." Her voice quavers slightly and you're taken aback by the sincerity in her tone. You gently grasp her shoulders and look her in the eyes.
