The invention fo a shrinking gun has reduced hunger and population, but the government has considered these tiny people as pests and are openly sold in stores and served in food outlets. Now they are being sold to schools to feed their students. This has given rise to the popular event of school lunches, which is now a regular part of the students lives. At an all boys school, like Garth Boys, (the school in the story) the students are now learning better after eating smaller people.
