"Dad", I said grudgingly while the adrenaline rush rose once more.
"What's wrong, kiddo." His voice didn't ring with that overly worried tone.
I think, in the back of my mind how odd this was.
"Dad, before I could get in the house some guy pulled up in a black limo and wanted me to get inside.
"Did you?" His voice was clear, but that concerned effect just didn't ring yet. "Where are you now?
"I'm home."
The receiver sounded heavy with air movement. "You're home."
"Yes, dad." My voice cracked while I tried to understand his tone not emulating that alarmed father, I knew. I stomped the man's foot and he left without any great concern.
