“Haley! Annie!” Jessica called out, “Who wants cookies and cake?!”
It wasn’t long before she heard the light thuds come rushing down the stairs, followed by some heavier pounding. Haley and Ann came rushing in, making a beeline for the fresh soft cookies.
“Careful, don’t burn yourself.” Jessica said softly as they dug in. She grabbed one for herself and gobbled it down, then another.
It wasn’t long before they dug into the cake too. Jessica poured her daughters and herself a glass of milk as they dug in, the cake slowly disappearing.
Jessica got up and carried the plates over to the sink as the two girls sat there in near silence, only the youngest, Annie a five year old, made any noise. She just breathed loudly, stuffed to the gills from eating too many sweets.
Haley got up and refilled her glass of milk as Annie slowly got up and walked into the living room. After a few seconds they could hear some cartoon come on. Haley walked up next to her mother as she took another sip.
“No wonder Annie’s getting so fat, you bake all the time.” Haley said.
Jessica eyed her older daughter, the eight-year old was old enough to register weight, but had a blindspot when it came to her own weight gain. Haley did sports at school, sure, she loved basketball and was even on a team, she might even be on the soccer team later, so her weight gain was slow, but still present. She wore a light pink t-shirt with a rainbow on it with clouds at each end, a pair of purple shorts, white sneakers, and had her hair in a pony tail. Where just a few months ago the thin girl would have fit into the outfit perfectly, things were changing. Her once flat stomach pressed out, at the moment it was mostly swollen from food, but even before she ate a new roundness had pressed out, not much but enough to notice. After she ate, her shirt rode up revealing some flesh. The waist of her pants, normally a perfect flat line, developed a crescent as her stomach swelled out from the meal. However, the meal hadn’t caused the just slightly thicker legs.
Still Jessica had to admit, she wasn’t wrong. A little over a year ago Annie had lost all the baby fat and looked like a thin little girl. Just a few months ago, Annie, had gotten just thin enough to feel her ribs just above her still soft belly, since then Jessica had needed to buy her a completely new wardrobe too fit her. Annie had gotten skinnier then most girls her age. Now she had turned into a butterball, most of the fat going straight to an ever larger belly.
“She isn’t the only one.” Jessica said turning to face her daughter, shifting her body some.
Jessica wore blue jeans and some baggy black shirt, her hair hung loosely down her back. In this outfit, her weight gain was noticeable. While her daughters were active, the most exercise she did daily was chase after them in the mornings. She thought most of the weight went to her hips, she really had gained the most in the back giving her butt some new found size and occasional jiggle, either way her jeans were struggling to contain her. Around her waist her weight gain was present, on either side a little fat pressed out on the waist of her pants, not love handles yet but if she didn’t go up a size soon it was coming. Her stomach rounded out from the meal, but without all the food in it it wasn’t much bigger yet, just softer. Her chest bulked up too, the shirt hid it but she needed a new bra.
Haley looked away sheepishly, “Well, I hadn’t noticed it on you, mom. You look fine.”
“Thanks.” Jessica replied, “Just, don’t be too hard on your sister. You got pretty plump when you were her age too.”
“Yeah, good thing I lost the weight.” Haley said turning around to walk away.
Jess arched an eyebrow as she watched her daughter walk away. She hadn’t noticed it yet, but where her formerly flat butt had been two round butt cheeks had sprouted and pressed against the fabric as she walked, forming a noticeable crease in between them. Haley headed out the door way, utterly oblivious to her own weight.
Jessica rubbed her full stomach as she looked around. Cake, gone. Cookies, gone. She finished her glass of milk while thinking about everything she had just ate. She undone the zipper on her jeans for the space, but left it buttoned.
She sighed placed both hands on her overfed stomach, lost in though. She left the last two glasses in the sink to wash tomorrow and walked into the living room to join her daughters, cradling her swollen belly as she went.
What was she thinking about?
