Chapter #5

Bigger isn't always better

    by: hedkrakka Author IconMail Icon
April looked at herself in the mirror, and didn't care for what she saw. Rather, for how much more she saw.

She was in her bedroom, stripped to her underwear. Even looking at those scant garments, she could tell how much tighter they looked. The panties were particularly worrisome, and she'd only bought those a couple weeks ago, and they'd been loose when she'd purchased them. Now, they were rather tight, and between her belly, love handles and hips, they were starting to disappear.

April ran her hand over her belly. "You've certainly grown, haven't you?" she thought as she felt up her rolls, a grim smile upon her face. Even standing up, her belly was divided into two definite rolls, with a small set of side rolls under her arms, and matching elements on her back. Her love handles already seemed pretty big, and were only getting bigger.

It still paled next to her lower half, which had clearly bore the brunt of her recent gain. Her hips were wide, and only getting wider, and her ass seemed (to her, at least) absolutely enormous. Her thighs had gotten thick and flabby, jiggling and rubbing constantly while she walked.

"No, let's be honest. I don't walk; I waddle." April could, admittedly with some horror, even remember the cutoff point between walking normally and adopting her slight wobble, and it was only a few months ago. Her thighs had absorbed the calories like a big, fleshy sponge. Hell, even her calves had gotten flabbier, and she now had definite cankles.

Her breasts had already been fairly large, and they'd gotten even bigger since she'd come to college. If there was one positive she could say about her newfound girth, it was that her enlarged belly helped support her generous endowments while she was sitting down. The girls were still decently perky, as befitting her age, but if her weight gain didn't stop, she knew eventually gravity would take over and do its dirty work.

Her upper body at least was slow to accumulate any fat. Her arms and hands remained fairly thin, with only a little bit of fat apparent on her upper arms. Her face and neck remained thin and pretty, with almond shaped eyes, and framed by her straight black hair. If anyone saw her from the shoulders up, they could easily mistake her for someone considerably lighter then she currently was. April found that fact almost worse then if her face and arms had rounded out like the rest of her.

Perhaps the scariest part of her increasing mass was just how FAST she'd porked out. When she graduated, she was one of the bombshells of her school. She stood at 5'6", weighed about 112 pounds, and had an hourglass figure which leaned fairly heavily towards the busty. April was vice-captain of the cheer squad, and was filled with a bit of sadness when she contemplated how active and athletic she had been. If she tried any of those flips and turns now, at best she'd only embarrass herself, at worst probably hurt herself.

"Two years! All this in only two years!" April gave her belly an agitated shake, all too aware at how the rest of her jiggled in turn.

April had come to Sycamore University on a cheer leading scholarship. Perhaps it wasn't as prestigious a school as Harvard or Yale, and it was on the other side of the country from her family in Florida, but it was a full ride scholarship, and her parents didn't exactly have a whole pile of money. Actually, they were in the worst sort of spot; too poor to afford school, and too rich to apply for low-income assistance.

It was while she was attending their summer camp before her first year that April had her accident. She was performing a flip, and as she went airborne felt a terrible jolt in her leg and landed really badly. She'd torn her hamstring, and while rehab was an option, it was a process that could potentially take years. Like that, her career path was shot in the foot. The school staff was at least not entirely soulless, respecting her scholarship for her first year. April had managed to land a couple small ones to stay afloat since, but her finances, like her clothes, were still dreadfully tight.

The weight began to pile on soon after. Her diet took a downward turn at this point. She simply couldn't afford a lot of healthy food, focusing on cheap and plentiful, which walked hand-in-hand with greasy and sugary. Stress over her grades and finances (especially since her new scholarships were mostly academic) had led to a lot of stress snacking and overeating. She wasn't exercising at all, and on top of all that, her metabolism was slowing down as she entered adulthood.

That she gained weight wasn't a shock, only how much she'd packed on.

April looked over at the scale in the corner. It wasn't hers, as she tried to avoid thinking about her weight as much as possible. She'd borrowed it from her friend and room mate, Julie. The question now was, did she dare step on it?
