Chapter #3

Small test

    by: Wokod Author IconMail Icon
Angie studied the thing for a while, but didn't find a single place for batteries. Curious, but noticing that the clock was running, Angie decided to keep the device with her so she could study it on her way to school. Finishing to prepare, she grabbed her backpack an eventually left her house. Some other students for the neighborhood were in the street too, walking to the same bus stop, but Angie knew that she would still have the opportunity to study quietly the dictaphone at the bus stop as, being totally unpopular, nobody would bother or even notice her at all.

When she arrived near the bench where some guys from her school were already messing around, loudly laughing about some movie from the night before, Angie stood a few feet from them, ready to study her new device. As usual, the bus would be late, so she had some time.

Well, wonder why anyone would send me this, she thought, and what was this letter about wishes and all... but suddenly, an idea crossed her mind. What if...

She looked at the device with a grin, and pressed the record button :

"I wish the bus wasn't late today !"

A stupid wish, but small enough to check if the thing could work, without freaking everybody around with some impressive wish. But nothing seemed to happen. Bullshit, thought Angie, just before thinking again : it was just like in those movies where someone had a typewriter or book able to make things come true just by writing them; Well, if this device was working the same way...

"The bus is already here", recorded Angie, and as soon as she did, there was huge sparkling sound behind her ; when she turned, a flash blinded the girl, and when her eyes began to recover, the bus was here, everybody looking at her, laughing, from behind the windows. Even the boys formerly on the bench.

"Hey ! What are you waiting for ? Jump in !" yelled the driver. A bit scared by all of this, Angie hesitated before entering the bus, people laughing about her "Hey flatty, freaking over a bus ? Wow, your life must be SO difficult !" said some boy from his seat, while a second added with a poor imitation "She was looking like "Ho no ! A bus, please, don't kill me !""

Angie ignored them, as she was still thinking about this : was she the only one noticing the changes ? Everybody was just acting like if all of this had been perfectly normal. She stopped, when she noticed her best and gothic friend Lucy, waiting for her at the usual seat at the back of the bus. Behind them was Lucy's twin, Laura, talking with some friend.

"Nice way to begin the day Angie" just said Lucy, while the other students were now talking back about some other subject. But Angie didn't answer : life had been unfair with her until now... and with this little device, she could turn the tables. She couldn't wait !

You have the following choices:

1. She has to use it right now...

2. Someone bully her and take the device !

3. Something else
