"Ugh, A three hour delay is not a good way to end a trip." muttered Vincent as he got out of the Taxi. Having just gotten back from visiting his grandparents Vincent was more than ready to just head straight to bed and fall asleep.
"Thank god it's the weekend tomorrow." Vincent said as he passed the mailbox thanking god that he did not have to head to school tomorrow. On more reflex than anything else Vincent checked inside. So he was surprised when he did find something in there.
"What the..?" he muttered "It's 2:00 am. the mail's not supposed to come till 10." He took the package out of the mail box and went inside his home and up to his room. He moved carefully to avoid waking up either his Mother or older sister.
He entered his room and carefully set down his luggage before looking at the strange package he had found in the mail box.
Sitting on his bed, the boy slowly opened the package, trying not to make too much sound doing so, and revealing a simple black box, without anything written over it."Okay no stamps or return address. Really hoping I'm not opening up a virus." he muttered, carefully opening the thing, until he saw what was inside: a simple black and silver dictaphone.
and nothing else.
Vincent found himself curious, as he examined the thing, searching for some USB plug or something but didn't find anything. Not even a battery compartment, which was weird. Examining the discarded paper formerly enveloping the package, he read some strange stupid message on it, about this being a present for him, and his wishes coming true.
Vincent was confused for a few seconds, but a stupid thought hit him. "Wishes coming true, eh ?" Normally Vincent would have simply written the thing of as a joke and put it away to be forgotten about later. However, in his tired state he decided to give it a try.
Deciding on something simple so that if it was a joke he could laugh it off. Pressing the record button Vincent said, "A glass of water will appear on my night desk"
Vincent almost dropped the device as there was a strange sparkling sound, and suddenly, there was a glass of water on his night desk.
He felt his mouth slowly drop in disbelief as he returned his gaze to the innocent looking device in his hand.
"Okay either I'm more sleep deprived than I thought or this thing actually works." Vincent felt a bit dizzy as the full implications of what he could do hit him.
"Alright, I can go to bed right now and try this in the morning when I know I'm not sleep deprived or use it right now." Vincent said as he felt his fatigue clash with his excitement.
