The words echoed through the house. Once again Michael and Sarah were fighting. This was pretty much a typical event in the household as like most siblings, Michael and Sarah didn't get along. It was just because they were both so different. Michael the eldest at 18 years old was 6 foot, athletic and good-looking. He was popular at school and confident in himself.. And his younger sister was more on the timid side. At 17 she had never grown past 5 foot, and where Michael was more self assured she was rather timid. She was also rather plain, she had a somewhat cute face in a mosey way but she lacked any curve on her body. This combined with the fact that she was a bit geeky had led her to not have too many friends in school, something which her brother would always make fun of her for.
She didn't let it got to her though, and she made sure she could always wind up her older brother and when she saw a package addressed for him this morning she quickly grabbed her opportunity. She rushed to her room and closed the door behind her quietly. Sitting on her bed she slowly opened the package to reveal an old Dictaphone. This left her bewildered, why would Michael be interested in something as lame this? Attached with the Dictaphone was a note.

That was all the note read, no indication to who had written it. Sarah was freaked out. She never considered herself to be superstitious girl but something about this was giving her an odd sensation. Could this be real? She pressed the button and then laughed to herself, was she really going to try this? What would she wish for? A car? Money? A new brother? She then looked up and caught her reflection in the mirror and sighed. "What I would really wish for is to grow up to be sexier and bigger than my brother" she immediately giggled at how ridiculous it sounded saying it out loud she even added afterwards "and for my brother to know what it feels like to be the smaller sibling for once". She then looked around expecting something to happen. To suddenly start growing but.......nothing. She bit her lip, god did she feel stupid now. Believing in a magical Dictaphone what was she thinking.
It was at this moment Michael kicked down the door shouting "give it back you little shit" Dad must have told him there was a package for him downstairs. Shit! Sarah though. She quickly grabbed the Dictaphone and tried to run out of the room. Even if the thing was useless she still didn't want her brother to have it. Unfortunately he was too quick for her and knocked her off her feet. This caused the Dictaphone to fly out of her hands and smash on the floor to the dismay of both of them.
"Look what you've done now!" Michael shouted
"look what I've done? You're the idiot who grabbed me?!" Sarah retorted.
"Well you shouldn't have been touching my stuff."
Michael walked over to the now busted dictaphone "What was this thing anyway?"
"You mean you don't know" Sarah asked, confused.
"Nope, not the kinda thing I'd be interested in" He examined it closer "Looks like its broken now anyway"
Sarah could see that the center of the dictaphone had collapsed in on itself. It clearly wasn't going to work anymore. Not that it worked in the first place.
"Well I'm off for football practice now, see you later LITTLE sis" and Michael disappeared out of the room.
God he infuriated Sarah so much. She stared at the broken remains of the dictaphone imagining if it had been real. If only........
