Lydia was intrigued by the Earth nation of Japan, which appeared to be uniquely situated for her brand of terror. It was a modern nation, but also isolated on a string of islands that could be conquered and held quickly by one with her power. It would certainly be a worthwhile base to begin the next phase of her domination of this world. Additionally, she saw appeal in the strange stories she picked up from the plays and productions of this world; images of gigantic beasts destroying the island nation again and again...
Frankly, it looked like fun.

In over fifty years of kaiju films, one would be hard-pressed to find a "monster" as beautiful as what was now rising out of the waters off the coast of Tokyo. Lydia loomed over the horizon, water cascading off of her tremendous form. Although it had initially been difficult to grow at will, her new powers had only gotten easier to master as she went on. Now, at a towering two-hundred feet, she began her slow march to the city proper, taking time to savor the panic spreading at her approach.
There were so many boats in the water around her, which her enormous hips carelessly brushed aside; they either sank in the waves left in her wake, or were completely destroyed by her godly flesh. She could have played some more in the water, but she had no time or interest; she'd only emerged in that fashion for effect. And given the complete anarchy breaking out below her, the effect was well with her time.
She laughed coldly, a more terrifying sound than any monster's roar, and contemplated her next move.
