Sari knew that if she remained where she was, she'd be dead. And there was certainly no way she could outrun a creature of Lydia's size and strength. Her best, perhaps only, option, was to match her former teacher's size, and fight her as an equal. It would be difficult to do so, considering she hadn't quite figured out how to channel such energy without the rage Lydia was clearly making use of, but survival provided an awfully handy incentive to learn quickly.
She closed her eyes in concentration, even as the reverberating quakes around her indicated Lydia was getting closer. Drawing deep on the overflowing well of power within her, Sari began to grow...
For her part, Lydia's mind was beginning to get a bit less clouded by rage and bloodlust. Oh, she was certainly still angry, but she knew she possessed an insurmountable advantage over her traitorous apprentice that would make punishing her infinitely enjoyable. She was equally pleased with her enormous new form; it presented so many possibilities...
Her search for her prey was interrupted by a sudden swell of magical energies off to her left. Turning swiftly, Lydia was shocked to see Sari's head burst through the tree-line, as the younger woman expanded larger and larger.
"Impossible," Lydia hissed. There was no way Sari should have been able to match her so quickly. Sari seemed to agree, and wasn't going to look a gift-horse in the mouth. As soon as she reached Lydia's size, she moved to take advantage of her opponent's hesitation.
