This choice: Sari opens a portal to a new world...ours • Go Back... Sari knew all too well how limited her options were. In a head to head fight, Lydia was leaps and bounds beyond her in power. She wouldn't stand a ghost of a chance. With Lydia's new titanic stature, there was no way for Sari to outrun her. Her legs could cover more ground in a single step than Sari's could in a hundred. Fleeing was hopeless. She would be trapped in Lydia's hand long before she managed to lure her master to Widowwood. Even the cover of the trees above her was useless, as Lydia's incredible magic would allow her to sense where her apprentice was hiding instantly.
Only one option remained. If a head on fight was out of the picture, and trying to escape to Widowwood would be futile, then the only choice Sari had was to flee into another dimension. Surely Lydia would track her down. She would follow her to the ends of reality in order to exact her revenge. But isolating her location in another dimension would take time. Time that Sari could use to learn the ins and outs of her new powers, and master them completely. Then she would be able to fight on even ground with her former master.
Concentrating her magic into the palm of her hand, Sari focused her energy into each of her fingernails. Preparing for the moment of truth, she took a deep breath and pulled back her hand. In one fluid motion, she swung her hand forward and raked her claws through the air. As her magic-coated fingernails swung through the air, they tore a hole in the fabric of reality. With a devious grin, she wedged both of her hands into that tear and pulled it apart. Tearing open her portal, Sari proceeded to jump forward into it.
At the last second Lydia saw her, but as she reached down her massive hand to grab her, the only thing that was wrapped in her fingers was thin air. She as too late. Sari had escaped.
"Dammit! How could that traitorous wench have escaped me?! *sigh* Oh well, no matter... She can enjoy her freedom while it lasts. I've got bigger things to deal with at the moment. Soon this world will be mine, and once I've conquered this world, I'll go after her. Then I can punish her for her insolence and add another world to my domain at the same time! I'll be killing two birds with one stone!" Lydia said with a laugh. She then turned her attention toward her true prize: The kingdom of Widowwood.
Meanwhile, as Lydia stomped off to begin taking over her own world, Sari had just exited her portal and appeared in the modern world. She laughed as she looked around at her surroundings. She was in the center of a massive city. Buildings of unimaginable size, even a couple that would make the current Lydia look small, surrounded her from every direction. She was absolutely speechless as she took in the majesty of her surroundings. Sari was amazed by how advanced everything was in this new world. The technology of this world made that of her homeland look like the stone age.
She was almost intimidated by it all, but one thing made her overflow with confidence. This world had no magic. Sari had scanned around when she first arrived. She was certain that a society this advanced must have mastered levels of witchcraft that would rival even Lydia's, but she was pleasantly surprised. This society, as far as it had come in the development of technology, had never discovered even the most basic of magics. It was almost laughable, really. Even a 3 year old toddler in her own world could manipulate simple levitation spells, but this world knew absolutely nothing!
Sari had already won. As great as their technology was, no amount of technology could ever hope to compete with the power of magic. Especially not magic on the level that she was now able to wield. Sari wouldn't even have to try in order to take over this world. They would be helpless before her within mere minutes. Sari laughed maniacly as she thought about it. With a flick of her wrist, she sent a bolt of magical energy at a nearby building, and watched in sadistic glee as the towering structure burst into flames before her eyes. This was it. It was the dawn of a new age for this world. This was the beginning of the age of Goddess Sari.
The two witches had begun their conquests. Though they knew nothing of what the other was doing, they were both bringing an entire world to its knees at the exact same time. Lydia in her homeworld, and Sari in this new modern world.
