Hello, 9-1-1?

"Mommy's at work, so I'll call the police," Sophie says.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" you ask.
"Mommy says that if there's an emergency and she's not at home, I should call 9-1-1. And I think you shrinking is an emergency," Sophie explains. You can't see what's happening, but you hear a beep followed by a different beep repeated: the sound of Sophie dialing the emergency hotline. Sophie seems to have the phone on speaker mode, because you can hear what the 9-1-1 operator is saying. It's a gruff, masculine voice that answers the phone.
"9-1-1, Emergencies," the voice announces.
"Hello? Are you the police?" Sophie asks.
"Yes," the man replies.
"My friend is here with me, and she's only two inches tall," Sophie explains, getting straight to the point.
