... and empathy," The phone was silent except the quiet buzz of the speaker. Cameron, after awkwardly waiting for a few seconds, regretted her decision. She waited a while longer, and then said, "Hello, Sam, are you there? Samuel," she desperately cried for an answer. No answer.
"You can't be serious," Her surprised boyfriend finally laughed. Exactly what she was afriad of.
"Of course I'm serious!" She screamed, then cringed, afraid that she had woke her sleeping parents. After waiting for a sign of life upstairs, she continued. "I've never told anyone this, and I thought you of all people would understand,"
"Cam, please..." his voice faded. Cameron placed the bowl of popcorn on the oak coffee table and stood. The room was poorly lite, the only light coming from the muted T.V, and Cameron felt around for the staircase. She ran to her room, finally gathering the idea to use her phone as a dim flashlight. As she reached the double doors, she heard a voice calling her name. She had completely forgot her boyfriend was still waiting on the phone. She closed the doors as held the phone to her ears.
"I'm coming with you," Cameron stated, removing her night clothes and replacing them with a blouse, a black leather jacket, dark blue jeans and black high heels. She peered to the full length mirror. She grabbed a comb and combed her golden hair as close to perfect as she could.
"Cam, I can't,"
"It's not your choice, Sam." she cut in, somewhat rudely. "I just have to find a way to tell my parents..."
