To say that Ashley Williams felt miserable was an understatement.
With the Reapers defeated, things that she'd tried to distance herself from were allowed to catch up with her. There were quite of few: the pain her sister had gone through, the devastation of Earth, the sheer loss of life but at the forefront of her mind was John Shepard. Shepard was currently in the hospital, having been found near dead after the final battle. She had it on good word that he'd recover, those cybernetics that Cerberus had used on him truly saved his life. It'd be a while but he'd eventually get back on his feet.
As much as Ashley was glad for that, it reminded her of just how much she messed up their relationship and that she'd missed what they had had. Looking back on it, all the things she said, that she did...it made her sick. She had sounded so paranoid and had been unfair. Every turn she questioned, doubted Shepard. She had even accused him of being a traitor. The memories of that gnawed at her, even now.
Despite that, Shepard had stayed civil and even kind towards her. When that Cerberus A.I. had sent her to Huerta, Shepard always made it his business to come see her. Reconnect with her, bring her a book from her favorite poet. Even when she even pulled a gun on him during the coup, he could have just shot her but instead talked to her. Believed in her.
And she’d given him nothing but betrayal.
‘Well not anymore,’ Ash thought, resolutely.
She was going to make it up to him and she knew just how. After Shepard and her had officially gotten together, Ash had discovered a few magazines that had contained ladies of a...larger variety. Much larger. Naturally, she’d confronted Shepard about it and him, being the honest, upright man that he was, he had come clean. He had stated that it was a preference but that was it and it didn’t change anything between them. Ash had let the matter drop but now it was going to be her ticket to making things right again.
‘If I have to get to size of dreadnought to get my man back then that’s all there is to it!’
