"Almost...there!" Shepard clenched her teeth as she used all of her might to try and close that gap. She was so close and yet still felt so far away! It was practically insulting. Here she was able to hold her own against crooks, mercenaries, monsters, and so much more and yet Shepard was unable to complete the simple task of buttoning up her pants. Thank goodness none of her teammates were around to see this right now. She'd never live it down!
Eyes widened at the satisfying feel of the button going through the hole. Fingers slowly moved away as she looked down to double check herself and see that it was on tightly. The few pounds she had gained already did leave her a little snug but it wasn't anything too uncomfortable. A sigh of relief parted from Shepard's lips as she could finally get back to work.
"That took longer than it needed too. At least it's done and over--" Of course as if on cue, the pressure was too much for the poor button and with a pop it bounced away onto the floor. Commander Shepard's soft little gut was yet again exposed to the cool ventilated air of her private chambers.
All Shepard could do was look down at both the button and her stomach with a defeated expression. Fingers gently place themselves upon the soft flesh before frowning. "I...probably need some bigger pants. I can't go around popping buttons every five minutes!" Especially for someone of her status.
