You decide to head into the cave. The boy needed to be rescued as soon as possible. Besides, it wasn't like the inside of the cave would be any brighter if you waited until morning.
You shiver as you entered the mouth of the cave. The inside was cold and damp; the fact that it was right by the sea probably didn't help. As you head further inside, you notice a faint glow; you head further in and see that the source was a small candle mounted on the wall. You examine the cave walls and find several similar candles, but only a few of them are lit.
You ignore the oddity and head further inside. The layout of the cave was simpler than you imagined. While the path was full of twists and turns, the path never never branched off, leaving only one way to go.
Eventually you stumble upon a chest on the side of the path. It was big enough to fit a small person inside and on the front was a large ornate lock, that on further inspection wasn't even connected to the lid.
