One morning, Didi Pickles was checking the mail, when she got a letter.
It was written in all caps: IMPORTANT! ALL LEGAL GUARDIANS OF INFANTS UNDER TWO YEARS OLD IN THE USA MUST REPORT TO LIPSCHITZ'S INFANT LABORATORY AND BRING THEIR CHILDREN WITHIN THE NEXT FIVE MONTHS. THEY ARE REQUIRED FOR TESTING."
Didi then showed Stu the letter.
"I suppose we'll have to make the trip sooner or later, so how about today?" asked Stu.
They then drove off to Lipschitz's lab and sat in the waiting room.
In the waiting room were several parents of babies, including Betty and Howard, who'd brought along Phil and Lil, and the boy Hector and his parents, who Tommy had met when he got given his booster shot.
First, the DeVilles got called in, and after what felt like a really long time, they came back.
"How did the test go?" asked Didi.
"Fine, Deed," said Betty, "but the doc said not to worry if the pups develop superpowers. Pretty sure he was just kidding, but it would be pretty radical to have two superhero pups."
"Wow," said Tommy to the twins, "you might get superpowers."
"Yeah, 'parently", said Phil, "but I that if we do, mine will be better than yours, Lillian."
"Will not, Philip!" said Lil angrily and the twins began to argue.
When the Pickleses were called in, they handed Tommy and Dil over to Lipschitz's assistant, who fed them a strange potion.
After they drank it, Dil seemed normal, but Tommy started to change.
"Deed! He's turning blue!" said Stue.
And he was, his whole face was becoming dark blue.
"Tommy?!" said Didi in a very fearful voice.
"Sorry, Mrs Pickles," said Lipschitz, "I have been given reports of the experiment giving infants powers, but never effects like this!".
Soon, the whole of Tommy's body was dark blue, and then he started to swell up.
"Help!" said Didi.
When Tommy had stopped swelling, he was about the size of a very large beanbag chair.
What happens now?
