The bowl is placed in the middle of the kitchen table between you, Carmen, and your parents. She had summoned them here to explain everything and for the next few minutes she does just that.
"Well this all seems very far-fetched," your dad says, as she finishes describing the awesome bodyswap party you wish to throw. "I mean a bowl that can swap bodies?" Carmen pushes the textbook across the table, flipping through it to the section regarding the bowl. He glances at it and shrugs. "Well these sources all seem credible. I'm convinced."
"So you'll do it!" Carmen says with glee.
"Now I didn't say that," he says sternly. "You're asking us to give up our bodies and our house just so you can hold what sounds like potentially a very dangerous party. Have you forgotten your 16th? Remember the property damage, and that was without a magical artifact."
Carmen's face falls. "But you'll get to be young again! Isn't that worth it?"
"Little miss, we may be forty but we're not decrepit," he scoffs. "Hell, I'm still in better shape than John."
"I don't know, Gerry, maybe it could be fun being somebody else for a change," your mum speaks up. She slides her hand into his. "Think about how much fun we had back then. It'd be like we were dating again."
Except at your age, your parents had been irresponsible, horny teenagers busy making your sister Erica. "Not in my body it won-!" you exclaim, but Carmen elbows you hard in the side. Eagerly she pushes the bowl across the table. It is snatched up with equal enthusiasm by your mother, who gulps it down.
