Linda felt embarrassed by what she was about to ask the doctor. It felt wrong somehow, but at the same time Linda knew it was the right moment to ask.
"I was wondering though, isn't there a possibility that we could trade...bodies?" Linda asked curious, her heart pounding harder as she was waiting for Dr Ara's reply.
"I suppose that possibility exists." Dr Ara finally replies. "But why would you want my body? It's not going to win any beauty contest."
Linda thought about it. Why did she want to trade bodies with the good doctor? There were many reasons for it.
"I'm not sure myself." Linda admitted to Dr Ara kneeling in front of her. "I suppose it could be because of the thrill of it. But that's not everything it has to do with it. I love science. Back home in my apartment I like to tinker around with stuff. Not that I'm going to win any prize for it." Linda waved it away. "But you, however." Linda's hand rested on the jar. "You're an amazing scientist, inventing all of those machines upstairs. You deserve so much better than what you currently have. That's why in the name of science I like to make a contribution as well you see."
Dr Ara was silent for a minute. Linda almost thought the equipment was broke when she finally reacted. "I see your point. I would not mind trading bodies with you, you seem like a lovely young woman and I'm sure that with my brain and your body we will make new discoveries that will have far reaching consequences."
Linda felt flattered but confused: "You said we, so are you asking me to.."
"Yes, if you feel up for the challenge, I would like to hire you as my assistant." Dr Ara said proud.
"I'd love to." Linda said giddy standing up with Dr Ara's jar in her hand. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She said jumping up and down.
"Please stop Linda!" Dr Ara said panicking. "Sorry, but when you do that my vision begins to stagger and I feel like I have to throw up."
"But you don't have anything to throw up." Linda pointed out.
"Um, small detail. Anyway the next step is trading our bodies. For that I need you to go upstairs to my lab and carry my body." Linda grabbed Dr Ara's jar first. There was no way she could carry Dr Ara's body and her brain at the same time. "Um, what do we do about Jaime?" Linda asked pointing at the other jar she carried with her.
"Good question. I suppose it wouldn't matter. We don't have any spare bodies for him to use. Just let him stay here."
