Weiss blinked once, then twice to make sure she wasn't seeing things. She placed a hand to her forehead and then to Ruby's and back again for good measure. She couldn't believe it. They were the same height. She was literally looking her team leader eye-to-eye without her heels.
"Oh wow!" Ruby began, "you're the same height as me!"
"I-I am." Weiss stuttered. She really was the same height as Ruby. "R-Ruby? How tall are you again?"
"Huh? Oh! I'm 5'2" and still growing! I drink milk!" she said proudly.
Weiss ignored that last part. She'd grown two whole inches overnight? Was she still growing too? She thought she was done having growth spurts since she hadn't had one since she was sixteen. Then again Winter was pretty tall and so was her mother and father. Maybe she just wasn't done yet?
"Weiss? Hello? Remnant to Weiss! Is anybody home?" Ruby asked breaking her from her thoughts.
"Huh? Did you say something?"
"I was asking if you were okay. You totally zoned out on me for a second." said with clear worry in her voice.
"I'm sorry. I'm fine, this is just a lot to take in." Weiss explained.
"What's there to take in? You're still a growing girl like me. Enjoy it." Ruby smiled. That was just like her too, always trying to look on the bright side. It's one of the things Weiss admired about her.
"You're right. I should enjoy this." Weiss smiled. She'd always been the shortest of the team and the shortest of the first years, she had every right to enjoy her latest growth spurt. "I'm going to get dressed now. When I'm done the bathroom's all yours."
"Gotcha." Ruby nodded before shutting the door to let Weiss change. The snow-haired girl smiled lightly before turning her attention back to her reflection in the mirror. That's why she felt off earlier. She was just going through a bit of a growth spurt is all.
There was absolutely nothing to worry about. ______
