It was nothing

You both run out to the front room to see a vase with flowers in it has fallen and shattered on the floor. John, Jack's dad turned husband looks at you embarrassed, " I'm really sorry honey, I don't know what happened. I promise I'll buy you a new one tomorrow." Mom in your body nudges you in the shoulder to get you to respond, "Oh don't worry....dear.....it's okay. Dinner is almost ready." Your dad walks up to you and takes you in an embrace and kisses you, "I'm glad you're not mad dear." You are both disgusted that your dad just kissed you, but also find that you kind of liked it. "MOM!" You hear Maddy shouting from down the hall. "The fun never ends your dad says as he smacks you on the butt and goes to watch TV.
