Sarah had barely hung up the phone when Emma arrived. As instructed, Emma entered without knocking, and spotting a line of shoes, added her vans to it. Her outfit now comprised of white ankle socks, tight black jeans, and a white tshirt sporting the name of a band. Emma had been bored at home when Sarah called, so she had jumped at the chance for some company. It'd taken until Emma was halfway done her own street on the way round before she'd realised she didn't even have a bra on. She figured Sarah wouldn't mind, and she could always borrow one if they decided to go anywhere. Although not a perfect match they had similar breast size. So Emma had rushed the rest of the way with an arm across her chest. Now she rushed upstairs to join her friend, and burst into the bedroom. Sarah stood to greet her and the girls embraced before dropping back onto the bed together. Emma couldn't place what was odd about Sarah, but after a couple of minutes chat it dawned on her.... 'she's not wearing socks' Emma thought. 'That shouldn't be unusual, but it is' Emma thought she had probably seen Sarah barefoot a handful of times in years of friendship, and even then, only when absolutely necessary. Emma realised she'd missed what Sarah just said and hoped Sarah hadn't noticed the focus of her gaze. "Sorry, I was totally gone then" "you were, you had the strangest look on your face" "ha... maybe I'll tell you why later" she teased. This provoked an indignant response from Sarah and they playfully bickered before deciding on what to do. Sarah and Emma had always been highly competitive with each other, mostly through sports and academics, but also one other thing... Mario Kart. They agreed on a 10 race tournament with the loser to suffer the forfeit of doing as the winner says for the rest of the day.
They were 3 races in when they heard Anne return.
