Ash and May where walking towards Pallet town after a long journey deciding to take a break at Ash hometown,

After almost arriving at Ash noticed something strange lying in he middle of the road. He Picked it up and it looked like a remote with allot of buttons.

Ash you clumsy boy and accidentally pressed one of the remote's buttons. A narrow red beam shot of tip of the remote and it hit May. "What the..?" Ash said and is worried that the beam might hurt May. May stopped walking for a moment. Then she stagger a bit.

"May. May! Are you okey?" Ash walk closer to May and the same put the remote in his pocket.

"Yea. I just loss a thought what we are going to eat today. Why?" May smiles to Ash.

"Well. It was...It was nothing." Replied Ash and shrugged his shoulders. Maybe that remote is just laser pointer or it emits light beam similar to poke-balls but does not to anything to humans.

Ash did not notice but actually the beam start to change May slowly. Slowly but definitely May is growing bigger. The reason why first Ash did not notice anything was because ______________.
