Chapter #8

The Cost of Skipping Class!

    by: Krashify Author IconMail Icon
Ever since you had joined Garreg Mach, you had a penchant for disliking training. You weren’t the type to be lazy or go easy, but if you had to take one more training session where you had to spar with Raphael who, as nice as he is, is overwhelming strong and not the most deft when it came to watching where he stepped or going easy. Months of putting up with the sore, beaten up body that followed sparring training, and the fact you didn’t even know why your professor had insisted that you trained grappling with him, despite your preference for bows and lances, had reached it’s breaking point.

After insisting you find a different partner, that turned out even worse. Although you were hoping to get paired with gentle beauties like Hilda or Marianne, Byleth paired you with Leonie, who while not as large as Raphael and definitely attractive, was 100 times as competitive especially when sparring against a man. She would spend every effort in throwing you down hard, and mocking you for it. Everytime you stood, you would brush yourself off, looking around to see no sympathy, only some knights who laughed at you, or cheered Leonie on, only fueling her competitive streak.

You had enough, and you decided you would find a way to skip any grappling sessions. You decided to study Hilda, the consumate professional and experienced training-skipper. As you watched her, you listened to her excuses, the way she flirted with guys and expertly played people to get them to cover for her or do her work entirely. You didn’t have her charm or knack for reading people, but were desperate to get out of grappling. As she pawned off her shift in the kitchen, so convincing you almost believed she really hurt her wrist, you approached her, hoping she could help you ditch training.

“Hey, Hilda. I need your help with training tomorrow…” You said, as the pink-haired beauty turned around.

“Oh, sorry… Byleth already said I can’t go, my wrist has been really sore…” Hilda said disappointed, as she weakly held her wrist and winced, “Besides, your plenty strong, I’d just hold you back and be a bad partner…”

“No, that’s not what I mean,” You started, “I want to skip tomorrow too. Can you help?”

Hilda’s pained expression instantly switched to curiosity, “Oh really? I thought you liked training, with how much you do of it. You seemed to enjoy it yesterday”

“Archery and lances, I enjoy. But I hate grappling, Byleth forces me to do it.” You admit.

“Oh, well, that’s easy. Just act sick and tell them you can’t, make it convincing!” Hilda smiled

“It feels like Byleth sees right through me when I tried…” You said, remembering Byleth’s inquisitive, blank stare that instantly outted your lie.

“Oh, yeah, she does that. Look, I’ll help you out, okay? If you do the weeding for me this afternoon” Hilda grinned

Of course she’ll get me to do that for her, I don’t have much of a choice though…

“Okay, Hilda it’s a deal.” You smile, excited to avoid grappling.

While weeding, you felt your finger get cut, as you retracted quickly, looking down at the culptri as you noticed an odd-looking plant, protruding out of the ground. You noticed a pinkish-purple plant with a drop of your blood. You ignored it, plucked it out of the ground and continued with the weeding.

-Later, in Hilda’s room-

“Okay, the key is follow through. You don’t want to go up and tell them, that opens you up to any questions they ask. You have to hide somewhere, while committing to the bit. Like me getting you to do the weeding, or Bartley with my kitchen shift, I hold my wrist when doing other things as well, see?” Hilda explained, as you both sat on her bed.

“Oh, that makes sense…” You said impressed at the level of detail the art of skipping chores she showed.

“Also, having someone to spend time with helps, it adds to the story. I usually spend time with Mary, cause she’s so nice and honest, and funny.” Hilda continued

As you watched Hilda go on about Marianne, you felt your vision begin to get blurry, as you felt your head begin to ache. Hilda looked concerned as you begin to drift back and forth in a daze.

“Hey, are you okay? You don’t look so good…” Hilda said, putting her hand on your forehead, “You feel really cold.”

As you watched the image of Hilda blur, you could have sworn she seemed to be taller now as well. Not long after, you collapsed on her bed.

Your eyes open, as you found yourself on a surface, similar to the bed but softer. You look up to see a gigantic room, with wooden walls and roof, that seems familiar. Suddenly, Hilda’s face popped into view, but expanded to giant proportions as you look at the giant noble’s concerned face.

“Oh my gosh, you’re awake! Are you okay?” She boomed in a concerned voice

“Ah!” You panicked at her size, “Y-you’re giant!”

“Actually…” She began as you began to look down at her body, noting the expanded environment as well, “You’ve shrunk, little guy!”

As you look across the room, you began to feel incredibly tiny. Everything was enormous to you, and the huge surface you laid on was Hilda’s pillow. As you managed to compose yourself, you couldn’t help but notice Hilda’s expanded beautiful facial features, as well as her expanded assets, that now seemed to be as big as your room. As you tried not to look to long, your eyes glanced back towards the giant face that was now grinned mischievously at your interest.

“You like what you see, huh?” Hilda grinned with a wink, as she picked you up as her fingers pinched your hips gently, “Well… I’ve never seen such a tiny guy, or one as cute!”

She raised your overhead as she laid on her back, analysing your tiny form as she considered what to do with you.

“So, little guy, what should we do now…?” Hilda mused
