As the Mario series have progressed, time, and Bowser, have proven that Princess Peach is a master at four things. Being in another castle, being kidnaped, getting her kingdom taken over, and then being rescued by Mario (and occasionally Lugi). The toads don't even defend themselves. Her guards coward in fear when Bowser comes knocking. It makes you think that Peach is rather willing, doesn't it? Is Bowser really that good at stealing princesses? Did some witch, demon, or dark god(s) put a curse on her? Does Bowser call in advance to tell he's coming to kidnap her? Point is, it's like anything can kidnap her. Anything.
I'm almost willing to wager that if someone else kidnapped her, besides Bowser or the rare new villain if the big turtle isn't around, there's four outcomes. A) It would disrupt the cosmic balance of the universe. B) Mario and Bowser's reactions would be priceless. C) One of them would fight the other so the loser doesn't get to the princess first. Or D) They would both team up to get their princess back.
This is where you come in. You are a non-toad resident of the Mushroom Kingdom that dabbles in science from time to time, and you're fed up! You're tired of preparing to be ransacked twice a month by a fire breathing turtle with an army. Tired of Princess Peach's failure to keep Bowser out, and the failure that is her leadership. Something has to be done. It's time for a change in leadership.
"I have what I need now," you said putting what you need for your plan. "If Bowser can kidnap the Princess, so can I," you say.
