After a few minutes at the table the waitress came by and said," Hello. Just to let you know this table is buffet only so there will be no food menu. Can I get you a drink?"
"Sure," said looking around the room to see a few of the bigger guys had gone for milk shakes or beer," I'll take whatever local pale ale you have on tap."
"Sure, sounds good," said the waitress writing in her notepad," I'll have your drink in a few."
She moved on to the African American guy next to John.
"Oh hey, welcome to the meet up," came a high voice. John turned to see one of the bears standing next to him, his soft doughy ball belly tucked behind a white shirt that did nothing to hide it's size filling John's view. " Can I sit here for a minute?"
"Sure," John invited.
"The name's Jim, but I go by FlannelBear on the site," said the bear taking a seat next to John, his belly spreading upon his lap. He had smaller eyes, with some grey hair on his head and a bushy salt and pepper beard.
"Oh, the host," John said recognizing the 320 pound host and extended his hand," I'm John or BookWormJ."
"Oh, the newbie jumping right on in," said Jim with a smile a pat on John's back.
"Yeah, well, Nico said that this event might be up my alley," John said pointing at Nico, who had moved around the table and was now sitting next to the biggest guy at the event, a 420 pound chub.
"Oh yeah, that boy," Jim said as his hand ran down his gut, John had no trouble imagining Jim and Nico hooking up together," He's a good kid."
"Your beer," said the waitress coming up and setting down a coaster and a glass of beer.
"Thanks," John said.
"Anyway, we're going to wait another five minutes before we get this food train going. I can hear the guts grumbling for food," Jim stated and his growled as if on cue.
"Yeah, I'm getting hungry too," John nodded.
"Do you want a boost with that?" Jim offered.
"What do you mean?"
"I just happened to have a few appetite stimulant pills on me, a few of us are taking them," Jim said," Whenever I take them at these events I leave with a bloated gut and someone with me."
"What does it do?" John asked.
"It relaxes the outer stomach muscles allowing your gut to expand to fit more in," Jim explained," Want to take one? I'm sure you could impress Nico if you did.."
John looked back over at Nico who had his hand on the biggest guy's gut and let out a laugh.
