As William waved his torched, he noticed that its light glimmered off of something in the distance. He cautiously made his way further into the cave trying to figure out what it was. He discovered that it was, in fact, a sword that the torch's light was bouncing off of. The sword, however, was lounged deep into the wall of the cave. But from what William could make out, the blade of the sword was shiny and new. Clearly, it must be sharp enough to cut deep into whatever these cave walls were made of. The handle of the sword was gold and encrusted with large gems.
Finding this sword was a brilliant stroke of good luck for a new adventurer like William. Thought he recognized the importance of his own rusted sword, it would hardly protect him in battle. But a new sword like this would allow him to challenge all sorts of opponents he may meet.
William set his torch down in a place where it would be safe and still light the cave. He gripped the sword stuck in the cave wall and started the pull. After giving the attempt some considerable amount of energy, the sword remained just as stuck as it was. William gave it several more tried before concluding that getting that sword free would take something more than just elbow grease.
But as William tried to step away from the sword, he realized that somehow his hands were stuck to the blade's handle. William began to panic as he realized his situation. He was no longer concerned about getting that sword and he was he was more focused on making sure he doesn't spend the rest of his life attached to that sword.
While William was desperately trying to free himself, something was approaching him from behind. What was approaching William?
