" Alright everyone! Good hustle out there girls. Keep it up and Newhaven doesn't stand a chance!" Coach Trisha announced to the girls before leaving for her office.

Katie was the most attractive girl on the team, and the captain as well. Miranda, her best friend, always tried to be positive and supportive but would often fall short or succumb to jealousy.

" Your shots just keep getting better Katie! That's why you're the captain."

"Thanks Miranda. I was pretty good wasn't I?"

" Careful Katie, if your head gets any bigger you just might fall over." Sneered Monica, her lackeys giggling behind her . " Just because you've had a good day doesn't mean anything when it comes to game-time."

Katie beat Monica for the captain's spot by just a small margin. This was nothing new. They fought over everything. Grades, boys, you name it.

" Maybe you could stop talking for a while, and actually practice. I actually know how to score."

" Oh i've heard that too. You've scored with half the soccer team haven't you?"

" Anymore talk like that and I'll have you off the team so fast..."

Katie was furious. She walked away with Miranda to cool off for a while.
