Hiccup was passing through the village, his mind was wandering and he bumped into the village wise woman. With a crash they both fell to the ground. Apologising profusely he jumped to his feet and helped her up.
He helped Gunna back to her feet. Before he could stop himself he was offering to help her back to her home.
The young viking usually shunned it, with rumours and stories that delighted and scared them as children. Of course, he was too old and worldly for such things. But he still cast a mindful glance backwards, wanting to be sure that at least one person could see where he was going, should she turn him into a snake or some such thing.
She barely talked, and only leaned lightly on the young viking. Hiccup was happy with silence himself, and perked up when Mildew looked to be walking towards him ... probably with another complaint about dragon damage ... When he saw Gunna, he changed his direction and broke eye contact.
"Won't you at least come in for a 'thank you' drink." she offered when they reached her front door.
He felt a bit silly for being so quiet. "Are you sure, you're all right?" he asked intending to turn down the drink. After all, Toothless needed a good flight and his father would have a job for him .... or ..... or Gobber could use his help...
As if sensing his unease, she skewered him with a sharp gaze, making him even more nervous.
"I can answer your questions..... all your questions." before she vanished inside her home. But the door remained open behind her.
