This choice: Hiccup picks a Mystical Gem, changes him into a girl • Go Back...Chapter #5Hiccup picks a Mystical Gem, changes him into a... by: Mr. George Hiccup was walking the beach, taking some alone time. The bewilderbeast had just been vanquished and everyone in Berk was bending over backwards to do him favours.
Now that's not a bad thing, Hiccup thought to himself. But he did miss the days when he was younger and the villagers would ignore or avoid him. As the chief's scrawny son, he couldn't reassure the villagers that Stoick would hand on power to ... to him.
He didn't want to be weak and ignored, but at the same time he wasn't entirely comfortable with all the attention either. Hell, Astrid knew he liked his personal space, and he knew she kept an eye out for him.
Toothless was always a good companion, never interrupting and suggesting things.
He kicked a stone, it went skidding through the sand, as he walked onwards. The beach was surrounded by cliffs and only accessible by dragon so he knew he'd be safe. At least until Astrid decided he was being self indulgent.
Oddly he felt a bond with Astrid even before they were friends.
It was hard to define.... It wasn't a friendship.... it was just the sense of not fitting in.
He was the chief's son, and also the least viking-like viking in the whole village. He thought back to Stoick's disappointment in his son. Stoick was a good dad, Hiccup knew this deep in his bones, but he felt the pain of his dad's disappointment deeply, as he thought it was true himself.
Now, Astrid.... Well, Astrid was different from him. A smile crossed his face with just the thought of her.
Her family was not powerful or well connected, it didn't hold sway in the village. But Astrid didn't fit in either. As a young viking, she was expected to learn how to keep a house... and a husband...
Viking life was rather more limited for the women of the village. Astrid fought against the pressures of people's expectations, and took to carrying her axe. She practiced with it endlessly, and built her strength, and ability.
She was always going to make a fierce viking warrior.
Hiccup reached the stone, and gave it another kick, shooting it off down the beach another hundred yards. This time though he noticed it give off a pale blue glow.
He chased after it, hoping it wasn't a dragon egg. Although dragon eggs are sturdy, their mother's wouldn't like to see it being kicked.
He reached it, and dropped to his knees. As he picked it up, the glow brightened and strengthened.
Peering deep inside, there were dancing lights, but no sign of a baby dragon. Hiccup's thoughts went back on track.
Idly he wondered if Astrid would have made a better son or he'd have been a better daughter. A random thought just to be dismissed.
The light flared, and painfully too late, Hiccup dropped the stone.
As Hiccup blinked his eyes clear, he looked around his feet, everything was still blurry and imprecise, but there wasn't anything 'glowy' near his feet. But something was different. Hiccup knew it in his bones. He settled back onto his rump, and waited until he could see properly.

Hiccup swept his errant hair back over his shoulder. Pausing he wondered when it became that long, it was always untidy, but never this long. He couldn't carry off long hair, it just made him look ... well ... girly.
That was the thought, and everything fell into place. Hiccup's hands raced over his body exploring it....
She swallowed nervously, it was undeniable.
Stoick had a daughter. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
