This choice: Somebody Else Comes In Before You Can Say Anything • Go Back...Chapter #5Meeting Mia Maza by: Unknown Before you could make your decision, you hear stomping and then into the tent walks in another monster girl who apparently doesn’t see you because she nearly stomps on you and makes you scream loudly. You look up and see the giantess and from the looks of it she was an enormous and obese pear-shaped wereleopard who was wearing a white tanktop and blue jacket with the a nametag reading “Mia” and a tight pair of jeans that left her butt visible, much like a plumber’s crack. She had bright gold and white fur over her body and black spots but with long red hair and a scar on her right ear. However, the most startling feature was that her right arm was completely mechanical. It reminded you of that one-armed ogopogo girl, Shelby.
Opal herself seemed surprised and disturbed to see the leopard giantess. “How may I help you?” the carbuncle fortuneteller says. “What are you doing in here?” asked Mia. Opal gave a hiss. “Excuse me? I have more right to be here than you. This is my Tent of Telekinesis.” The leopard giantess blinks and then rubs her chin with her mechanical arm. “You mean that this isn’t a changing room? Damn.” The girl whacks herself in the face before she walks out. You’re forced to run to avoid getting stepped on and then you yell as you trip and grab the leopard lady’s tail.
This in turn startles the leopard woman and she looks down at you before she plucks you off of her tail with her mechanical arm. It felt strange being in a robotic hand. It was so cold and felt like a pair of metallic rocks. You even shiver before the leopard takes you up to her face and notices your lifeguard uniform. “A human lifeguard on a beach for giant monsters?” she asks. “You must be Stephen.” You were confused. You had never seen this titaness in your life and yet this 850ft high wereleopard knew your name. For that matter, why wasn’t she eating you? After all, she was clearly a carnivorous monster.
Before you can even think of the matter, you hear a flapping noise and Roxy soars down from the sky and notices the feline giantess. “Mia?” asks your gargoyle friend. “Roxy!” yells the leopard girl. Mia places you on her shoulder before she and Roxy exchange a large hug and laugh to each other. “I haven’t seen you in months, you metal moggy,” says Roxy. “I see that ass of yours has gotten bigger.” Mia gives a purr and a laugh. “Like you’re really one to talk about people’s weight. Janet and Petra grew past you in height because you were too busy growing the other way.” Roxy just gives a scoff and then notices you. “Oh. Hey, Stephen.” Roxy takes you from Mia’s shoulder and you blink.
“You know this woman?” you ask your gargoyle friend. Roxy gives a scoff. “Of course I know her,” says Roxy. “Stephen. Meet my cousin Mia.” You look at Roxy in surprise and then look at Mia. Did Roxy seriously say that Mia was her cousin? Wereleopards and gargoyles aren’t even similar species and you weren’t really sure how gargoyles were classified in the animal kingdom. Heck, wereleopards are born alive while gargoyles hatch from eggs. You then decide to speak your mind. “Roxy,” you say. “Mia’s a wereleopard. You’re a gargoyle. How could she be your cousin?” Mia gives a scoff. “I’m adopted,” she says. “Duh.” Well, that made sense.
“Mia lives in Direopolis,” says Roxy. “It’s a mountaintop village that’s half a day away from Terrordale. I didn’t even know you were coming Mia.” Mia gave a laugh. “Surprise, cousin. I take it Janet and Petra still live in Horrorville? How’s Aunt Gaia doing?” “She’s doing as well as she can in the monster world’s worst city.” Mia gave a scoff. “Are you kidding me? Panicburg is an amusement park compared to Direopolis. I still can’t believe that I moved to a town that’s practically a giant asylum.” “Asylum? Like the KDP?” you ask. Roxy lets out a sigh. “Direopolis is a very strange town. From what Mia tells me, the townsfolk are all quirky bordering on insanity. At least those six weirdos who run that restaurant you told me about keep you from starving.” “Huh?” you ask. Mia lets out a sigh. “There are three human-monster couples who run a restaurant called Neo Neapolitan that’s a magnet for trouble. I’m a handycat, which means every time something breaks, they call me to fix it. I spend so much time there, I practically eat nothing but pizza since I’m too busy for normal meals. That’s why I came here. I needed a vacation. Ugh. I’ll bet that by the time I get home, there’ll be a huge crater in its place.”
Roxy let out a laugh. “Come on, Mia. I’ll take you to the changing tents.” Roxy walks her feline cousin down the beach, all while you can’t help but stare at Mia’s mechanical arm. “Mia,” you say nervously. “If you don’t mind me asking, what happened to your arm?” Mia just stares at you before speaking in a blunt tone. “You don’t want to know.” You nod your head and then Mia enters a changing room to change into her bathing suit. As Mia is changing, you crawl up to Roxy’s ear. “Seriously, Roxy,” you say. “What’s with Mia’s arm? I didn’t know cyborgs actually existed.” Roxy stares at you. “Stephen,” she says. “You seriously don’t want to know how Mia lost her arm. Fortunately there’s a eccentric inventor in Direopolis and she built Mia a replacement arm. “Did it hurt to put it on her?” Roxy gave a scoff. “Oh yeah, it hurt. My aunt had to hold Mia’s good hand while she was being grafted. Then that madwoman remembered after she put the arm in that she had anesthetic.”
At that moment, Mia came out wearing a... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
