As Ken reached into his backpack, his hand fell only various books and pencils he had brought for the project. His heart dropped as he looked into the bag and did not see any sign of the high-tech and, no doubt, expensive device. Foot steps behind him caused him to look towards the door, expecting to see Sophie back from the bathroom. Instead his heart raced as he found Maggie standing in the doorway, holding the very device he was searching for.
"Looking for your toy?" Maggie asked with a giggle, her tone just a bit condescending.
"Give it back!" Ken said springing to his feet in an instance, moving into a position as if to charge the younger girl.
Unfortunately his speed and positioning startled Maggie more than he would have wanted. The young athlete gasped and backed away, her hand reflexively squeezing the trigger on the shrink ray. In an instant a green ray shot out from the gun and bit Ken square in the chest. His vision swam and bile built in his throat as a wave of nausea washed over him. He saw the world around him rise up, his vision locked on Maggie's face as her expression slowly faded from shock to confusion and finally settled on glee as she saw Ken reduced to a mere two inches in height.
The room was washed in silence as Maggie and the now tiny Ken stared at each other. Ken's heart continued to race in fear and panic as his mind raced for an escape from this horrific situation. Meanwhile, Maggie's heart was doubtlessly racing with excitement over Ken's severely reduced status. As Ken was about to try running, hoping to get away and find help from Sophie, Maggie took her first step towards him. The ground beneath the tiny boy shook like an earthquake, causing him to stumble about as a shadow fell over him. Looking up as he finally regained his footing, Ken could clearly see every detail of Maggie's palm as it wrapped him in darkness and lifted him into the air.
From his prison in her palm, Ken could only sit and wonder about what this new giantess girl planned to do.
