Ashley didn't know a thing about Gourmet Heaven so she was reluctant to take the job. She wanted to go home and do a little research. She thanked Samantha for the opportunity and let her know that she would be in touch. Ashley left the premises and headed home.
At home she pondered the job prospect. She was in dire need of employment and hadn't heard back from 99% of her applications. She knew she better take the job, Samantha seemed nice enough, how bad could it be? She gave Samantha a ring back and told her she could start tomorrow. Samantha sounded delighted, and Ashley was as well.
The next day Ashley showed up a little early, just to make a good impression. She again pulled up in front of the Cake Kingdom building where she was going to be working. On her way in she passed the Sweet Shop where her interview had been. To be honest she was impressed with the campus this company had. The fact that her own building had it's own coffee shop was incredible. The rest of the building was as uniquely named as everything else. Since it was the Cake Kingdom each suite of offices was named after different flavors. She made her way to the Red Velvet office where she was going to be working. All the tasty names got her belly rumbling. After these treats yesterday Ashley had been craving something sweet.
When she walked into her set of offices she was shocked at what she saw. There was food everywhere. Baskets of cookies, and full on cakes on every surface in the office. The office was pretty small, just two windowed offices, and half a dozen cubicles. They had their own bathroom along with kitchen and conference room. The walls were covered with filing cabinets and tables. Typical office, except for the food spread. Ashley knew that when she took a job for Gourmet Heaven that they must have been in the food business some how, but what had she gotten her self into.
Ashley made her way to the back office where she knew Samantha would be awaiting her. She walked through the open door and was greeted with Samantha's warm smile and a hello. The girls said their pleasantries and carried on a conversation for a few minuets. Ashley couldn't help but notice the box of donuts that Samantha was eating through. Samantha offered Ashley one. Ashley had been taken aback by all the sinful food in the office, but she was still craving sweets after yesterday so she took her new boss up on her offer. Samantha kept offering until Ashley had eaten three and the box was empty.
"Well how about a little office tour before we get you started." The large woman took her time getting up from what looked like a reinforced office chair. There were only four other women in the office and Ashley got introduced to all of them. The first thing she noticed was that all of these women were fat. She wasn't surprised after seeing Samantha, and also seeing the amount of sweets each woman had at her desk. First off was Nancy. Nancy was an accountant and had been here for a few years. She looked to be about 200 lbs and almost 30. Next was Tasha. Tasha was in HR. She had also been here for a few years but was much younger than Nancy. She had joined the company right out of college. She was only 25 but was already 230 lbs. Tasha was also probably the closet one to Ashley in age. The next cubicle over was Fran. Fran was probably a little younger than Samantha, late 30's. Fran was in charge of sales. She had been there for years and had a lot of experience at her job. She was definitely the biggest of the bunch at 330lbs. Well not as big as Samantha, not one touched her enormous size. Last in line was Denise. Denise was in the quality control department. She must have been the same age as Nancy judging by the old picture on her desk of them at a graduation much slimmer. Now it seemed like Denise was around 250, when she used to be such a twig.
Finally Samantha showed Ashley her desk right in front of her office. Samantha also told her to make her self at home and get comfortable, nothing was off limits. Throughout the day Ashley got acquainted with her new job. It was very different from being a fitness instructor. Throughout the day Samantha called on her to bring her treats. It seemed like Samantha never wanted her desk to be cleared of something to eat. She watched as her boss munched all day long. No wonder these women were so big, endless supply of free food and no restraint. Ashley helped herself to a few treats but tried not to over do it.
