“C’mon Melissa, there got to be something wrong.” Alice said.
“What? What could be wrong with her?” Melissa said. She preferred to sit back and gossip behind a person’s back as opposed to “actually caring about someone,” as Alice often did.
“I don’t know, but she’s a coworker, us girls look out for each other.” Alice said. Melissa rolled her eyes.
“I just ate a lot, do we have to do it now?” Melissa whined.
“Come on, get up.” Alice said. The two flabby friends slowly lifted their overfed bodies out of their overtaxed desk chairs. Melissa and Alice groaned and grunted as they struggled to get their bodies upright. Their large breakfasts made their heavy bloated bellies hard to shift around. They slowly waddled over to Victoria’s desk. The two fatties were out of breath as they reached Victoria at the front of the office. Vicky’s was sitting on her big butt, snacking on some twinkies.
“What are you gonna say to her?” Melissa whispered to Alice. It was a good question. It would be rude for Alice to just ask her why she’s getting so fat.
“I’ll pretend it’s a survey for everyone at the office.” Alice said. She turned towards Victoria.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” Victoria said.
“Hey Vick, I’ve got some questions for you for a survey. Everyone at the office has to do it.” Alice said.
“Ugh, yeah sure. Ask away.” Victoria said. She was pretty gullible so she didn’t bat an eye at Alice’s fake survey.
“First question: how often do you exercise?” Alice asked.
“Uhm… never I guess. I hate getting sweaty, working out sucks.” Victoria said.
“Okay, in what ways do you try to eat healthy?” Alice asked.
“Try to eat healthy? I don’t think about whether I’m eating healthy or not. I just eat what I want when I want it.” Victoria said.
“Do you monitor what you eat at all?” Alice asked.
“No, I’m only like 23.” Victoria said. Alice was a bit confused as how “I’m only 23” was a valid reason.
“Okay, have you gained weight in the last year?” Alice asked.
“Hmmm… I’m not sure. I haven’t weighed myself in so long.” Victoria said. The answer was obviously yes.
“So yes or no? What’s your best guess?” Alice asked.
“Can you just put ‘I don’t know’?” Victoria asked.
“Ugh, yeah sure.” Alice said. “Thanks for taking the survey.”
“No problem!” Victoria said. Alice and Melissa walked back to their desks. Alice was flabbergasted by Vicky’s naïve attitude towards her weight.
“See, there wasn’t anything wrong with her.” Melissa said.
“A doctor would disagree.” Alice said.
“Well, it’s not like mine or your answers would be any different.” Melissa said.
