Aliens did it

Julie Evans woke up in the picturesque town of quaintsville U.S.A like she did every morning, bored out of her mind that she was stuck in a small town in the middle of bugger all nowhere only good for the postcard picture value it provided for those lucky enough to get to visit and leave, but while they got to leave, she imagined she would be stuck in the town for another 24 years of her life, possibly more, until either the town suddenly blew up or if she was lucky enough to meet someone who could take her away from it all, but she doubted either option would happen.

at 24 years old, Brunette, average build with average looks, in an average town, Julie knew she had no chances of getting out of the town she was born in for more than a vacation, there was no college anywhere near worth getting herself in debt for a degree in, there was no big city to commute to and get a job in, there was just the town and everyone she'd know her entire life and the passing tourist trade that would occasionally frequent the place

Groaning to herself as she dragged her body out of bed, she walked in her usual morning daze past her housemate and best friend since highschool, Claire Synclaire, as she was busy preparing both of their breakfasts, Claire's one passion in life being the culinary arts, and went about her morning routine as she got ready for her shift at the local diner.

Claire was the opposite of Julie in most ways, she was content to live in the quiet town, content to stay there as well, and she was content to do so while being a remarkably beautiful blonde with large breasts and a tight well toned body, Something Julie would occasionally find annoyance with, Claire possessed most things needed to get out of this dive of a town but she didn't see the point in using them, she could of been scouted by hollywood or be off cooking in some big fancy restaurant in a big city but she was quite happy to stay where she was. but she was Julie's friend, and kept her well fed and looked after while she let Julie stay in her spare room, Claire having inherited the house from her parents when they'd moved away a few years ago to travel the world after winning the lottery, they sent back souvenirs every so often which Julie loved to look at and marvel and imagine the wonders of anywhere but where she was.

Emerging from the bathroom, all made up and ready for the day, Julie sat down at the breakfast table, ready for whatever it was Claire had prepared for her this morning

"Hey Julie, good nights sleep?" Claire asked, adding the finishing touches to breakfast

"yeah it was alright, yourself?"

"Well, yes and no, i kept getting woken up by some weird lights outside my window, but everytime i woke up i fell back asleep again, so it was just on and off on and off...but i feel really rested, but also a little bit hungry"

"I can tell, jesus you planning on feeding a pet elephant you've not told me about?" Julie asked in surprise after breakfast in all its entirety was put out in front of her, mountains of fried bread, towers of bacon, omelettes the size of small bike tires, it all smelled so good but Julie knew she couldn't eat it all, let alone make a dent in it, and she wondered how Claire could either

"well...most of this was about to go out of date...so you know...waste not want not etc"

"this is all gonna go to waste when we don't eat it you know" Julie replied but still tucked into the food in front of her anyway, Claire joining her as well

not realising where the time had gone Julie noticed her "you're running late" alarm she set as a precaution for if she ever was running late go off.

"oh shit!! now i'm going to have to run half the way, brilliant, thanks for the meal big enough to make me late and still not be halfway done" Julie blurted out as she headed for the door, not noticing Claire completely ignore her as she did so, so intently focused on the food infront of her that she was

As Julie ran down her street in hopes of catching the bus and still making it with time to spare she didn't notice the distinct abundance of food delivery cars speed past her in the road, the drivers stuffing their faces as they drove all over town

Nor did she notice what looked nothing like a cloud move across and blot out the sun for a brief moment as a flash of bright light once again bathed the town in a strange glow

What she did notice was her stomach rumbling rather ravenously as she ran.

"oh man, still hungry and not even close to work...today's gonna be such a pain"
