Misunderstanding

by: NEDM (TwoTailedMoon) Author IconMail Icon
Tommy walked into his bedroom, his eyes still puffy from crying.

"Eric...look, I'm sor-..." Tommy stopped the moment he realized Eric was no longer in the room.

"E-eric?" Tommy's eyes glanced around from corner to corner.

("....he really did leave?") Tommy thought to himself guiltily. He felt regret for having blown up like that. After thinking it over, he came to the realization that It was his fault the argument started in the first place.

Staring down at the carpet in sadness, Tommy suddenly picked up movement in his peripheral. He quickly lifted his head to see his hamster attempting to climb up the side of his bedsheet.

The young teen quickly walked over and reached out for the small hamster, easily grasping his fingers around him.

"Oops, I totally forgot about you"

-------
Eric squirmed desperately in his friend's massive grip as he was pulled up to his face

("TOMMY!! TOMMY!!! IT'S ME! ERIC!!!") *SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK*

"Aw, you must have been so scared. Sorry I forget to put you back in your cage earlier" With that said, Tommy walked over to Gear's cage and began lowering the frantically squirming 'hamster' into the transparent box.

"NO!!! TOMMY!! STOP! IT'S ME!! THE GUN TRANSFORMED ME!! TOMMY!!!!" (SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK)

Tommy couldn't help but giggle at the ticklish feeling of the hamster's movements against his palm.

Eric was lightly dropped onto the cedar chip covered floor. Up above him Tommy placed the grated top of the cage into position, locking it tightly.

The moment he hit the ground, Eric began jumping up and down on the see-through wall of the container.

Tommy lowered himself to eye-level with the tiny creature. His face appearing a bit sad.

"What should I do Gear? You think Eric will forgive me?" The irony of his words were like daggers to the transformed teen.

It was then that Tommy noticed the transformation gun laying on his bed. He walked over and picked it up.

"ugh, it was all this stupid thing's fault. I should have never even bothered with it. Nothing is worth losing a friendship over. Useless garbage!"

Feeling the urge to vent his frustration, the teen dropped the gun on the floor and raised his foot over it.

-----

"W-wait!!! TOMMY!! NO STOP!! DON'T DO THAT!! I NEED THAT TO CHANGE BACK!!! TOMMY!!!! WAIT NOOO-"

*STOMP* *STOMP* The display screen cracked almost instantly.

*CRUNCH* *CRUNCH* The hard outer plastic began to crack leaving the inner circuits completely vulnerable.

With one last stomp, Tommy brought his heel down with a loud *CRUUUUNNCHH* *FIZZLE~*

Feeling satisfied and breathing heavily, Tommy wiped his forehead and plopped down onto his bed.

Meanwhile, up against the glass wall of his cage, Tommy's 'new' hamster was silently still. It's front paws up against the transparent barrier. It's soul crushed worse then the device could have ever been.
