Fishbowl

Tommy carefully walked across the room, making his best effort not to go too fast. He knew that if he was careless, Eric could easily be blown off the sheet.

Looking around the room for a place to examine his newly shrunken friend a bit closer, Tommy was suddenly interrupted when the house phone began to ring.

"Oh no... that's probably my dad" he whispered

"Hold on a sec, I'll be right back!" Not wanting to miss the call, Tommy quickly ran over to his desk and carefully lowered the sheet of paper over his fish-bowl. The younger teen wasted no more time as he darted out his room.

Eric wasn't completely sure what Tommy had placed the sheet on top of. Everything was simply too massive for him to make out the blurry details of the galaxy sized room around him.

One thing did strike him as odd though. There was a faint scent of stagnant water in the air.

Unbeknownst to the tiny teen, Zippy the gold fish was happily swimming in the waters directly under him. Due to the paper having been stepped on earlier, it's center had drooped down far enough so that it was only about a centimeter away from the water's surface.

The sudden white surface above it's bowl must have initially frightened the fish, evidenced by how it was swimming relatively low inside the small container. After the fish seemed to realize that there didn't seem to be any danger, it slowly swam higher and higher to investigate the odd white object.

Eric decided to lay down for a moment, just to take in how incredible this situation was.

"Maybe Tommy was right...this is actually really n-.."

The teen was suddenly interrupted as he felt a strange jolt shake the paper slightly.

"W-..what was THAT?!"

Two seconds later another jolt.

"What's g-going on?!" The crumb sized teen couldn't keep himself standing.

Zippy had begun surfacing himself, lightly knocking the strange white surface. Tommy had forgotten to feed him, so perhaps the small fish was mistaking the paper above him as having something to do with feeding time.

Each time the fish rose to nudge the bottom of the paper, the entire sheet shifted more and more across the top of the bowl.

Eric was too busy trying to keep his balance to notice.

After receiving one final nudge, the right side of the paper fell off the rim of the bowl, causing it to ramp down onto the water's surface.

Eric screamed in fear as he found himself sliding down the massive sheet. There was nothing he could do as he fell off the edge, dropping down into the waters below

Zippy immediately retreated to the bottom of the bowl after the paper had significantly shifted. Keeping an eye on the scene above him, Zippy suddenly noticed a fish-flake floating on the surface of the water. More hungry than it was scared, The small goldfish eagerly began to swim back towards the surface to eat-up the newly introduced treat.

Eric tried his best to stay afloat, but he had never been a very good swimmer. As he found himself sinking, he opened his eyes to see something quickly approaching him from below. It didn't take long for him to identify it as being Tommy's goldfish. The teen remembered all the times that he would look into the fish bowl when he was normal sized. When Tommy first got Zippy, the two friends would simply watch the small fish swim around aimlessly for minutes at a time. There was something so passive and harmless about the creature that had always soothed him. Tommy even let Eric feed the tiny goldfish on a few occasions.

Eric wasn't paying the goldfish any mind until the it started getting closer. From a distance, it still looked like a relatively small fish, but as the range between them lessened, Eric quickly realized how genuinely small he had become. The fish was roughly the size of a stadium and approaching fast. The realization hit him pretty hard. Eric knew that he shrunken quite small, but it had only just occurred to the teen that he was now the perfect size to be a snack for the hungry goldfish. He didn't want to believe it. Little Zippy's appetite was now a threat to his life.

Panicking, Tommy tried to resurface himself, turning around every two seconds to see the fish getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

Eric was so close, just a little more and he'd be able to reach the paper ramp above him.

He turned around one last time to see Zippy's massive lips opening widely behind him. The goldfish was clearly very intent on consuming the tiny speck.

At that very moment Tommy walked back into his bedroom. Eric cried out, reaching towards his friend from behind the glass, causing bubbles to rocket out of his mouth as the lips of the small goldfish passed over him.

("TOMMYYY- !!!")

*NOOOM* The fish quickly sealed it's lips shut, claiming it's prize. Zippy had no indication that what he just ate used to be a full sized-human. To him, it was just another flake to be devoured.

The fish immediately began it's short swim back down to it's usual spot.
------

"Meh, it wasn't even my dad, just some scam-........."

Tommy froze the moment his eyes fell on the fishbowl. The paper his friend had been on top of had fallen into the fish tank; Eric was nowhere to be seen. There was no sign of him in the bowl either, only a harmless looking goldfish swimming back and forth through the water, aimlessly.
