You recall them in disjointed fragments, your chosen form, the punishment of Susan. You feel the warmth of sheets covering your body. Your left hand rests on top of the bedding, and you feel it being held, cradled. You still feel weak, as you breath slowly, it works it's way into your consciousness, that you aren't rasping or gasping for breath. There's a tightness in your chest, but you dismiss that as being down to bandages or some other medical thing.
The haze of your dreams, and fears fade as the anaesthetic leaves your body. You hear Jackie's familiar voice beside you. She's not saying anything in particular, just making reassuring noise, as if she were settling a child.
You allow yourself to float away on the comfort of her words, relaxing behind your closed eyes, in the snugly warmth of your bed. Perhaps you judged her too harshly, perhaps you saw enemies and plotters where there were potential allies.
A whole body yawn curls your spine, and with a soft moan, you allow your eyes to flutter open.
Your resolution to forgive Jackie, to be more open to her vanishes in an instant. As you see the bitch smirk down at your form.
It's not her face that she smirking from, it's not her body.
Damn it. It was meant to be your body, your face, your relaunch of the company.

"That's right, honey. I'm the boss now. I'm the new face of F'Aurèal cosmetics. While you... well you are ..."
She gestures, with a sweeping wave of her arm. You look down at your new body.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
