Joe Carpenter, a common factory worker.

You sat silently as the hum of the engines and conveyors audibly reverberated throughout the room. The control panel, whose human-machine interface was custom tailored towards the operator (that is, yourself), flickered with an assortment of lights, displaying the settings and status of the current production state. Your eyes wander to the analog clock hanging on the side of the wall, hands ticking as they moved forward one step at a time. The clock showed 4:58.

It's nearly time. Just as that thought entered your mind, the door swung open, revealing the dirt smeared visage of the maintenance technician as he swiped his card against the scanner to the side of the door.

"Everything's running smoothly," he said as he clocked out. "Should be fine until next shift comes in. You good to stay here until then?"

"Sure." You replied. "Wasn't really planning on anything anyway."

"Cool. I'm heading out to catch the game then."

And with a rush, he slammed the door behind him. You stretched. Finally you were alone for about an hour until the next shift. Whereas most people would scoff at the idea of working overtime, it came with a few additional perks -- namely, that no one would notice if someone were to produce something extra. You see, industrial production encountered its fourth revolution once molds were introduced into the scene: very precise automated devices that would take a generic substance and mold it into the shape of the required product. Typically, the substance had to be tailored to the specific product that was being created and that's where most of research & development was going into these days. Properties likes malleability, hardness, ductility, and others were all in consideration. Your company was in the business of the industrial production of luxury...
