Waking with a start, you take in your new body. Craning your neck, you look down confirming what you feared. You're a woman, the subtle shifting of your bust unfamiliar as you clawed your way towards waking. Sighing, you try to take it on the chin. After all, half of the population on the colony ship are women... The odds were even that you'd be one.
Your bust does feel too large and mobile. Shifting your hips, you discover they're wider and fuller too. Hoping it's just the alien-ness of it all, that makes them feel quite so different. The weird angle doesn't help you judge the size of these things... An errant thought intrudes, as you wonder how tall you'll be. If you're petite, that's something you think you'll struggle with.
The AI voice spoke, just reading out your medical data, ensuring you were healthy. On detecting your eyelids opening, and the soft moaning as you wake, she starts to address you. At least, you think of it as her, as she sounds like a woman.
"Welcome to the bureaucracy." The AI voice sounding chipper and enthusiastic.
"Oh... okay..." you groan, in a weak whispery voice. Your throat parched after the long voyage.
A frown creases your forehead, as you struggle to remember your past life. A vague thought drifting into mind, that it's blocked to avoid you clinging to the past. You remember a rather sedentary life, of sitting in an office chair, and the feeling of not making a place in history.
Even your face is imprecise, just a reflection with the remnants of memory of shaving it everyday.
