For a few moments, nobody's quite sure what to say. You blink a few times as you stare back towards Elena, and for a moment, she looks like she's about to say something. "So... You..." Her head turns around, awkwardly avoiding your gaze. But her expression quickly reverts the moment she spots the odd-looking black goop now staining your sheets. "What is that?" She turns up, looking right into your eyes. "What are you?"
"What am I? What are you two? I mean, what's with the sword? Were you two hunting something? How-"
You back up the bed, the blanket pushed aside as she brings the point of the blade up to your neck. Elena's expression makes you freeze up. The look she's giving is probably enough to freeze Manny in place, never mind someone like you. "Don't lie. That stuff isn't natural... What the hell did you do to get it here?"
"You tell me! I've never had that happen before. I was just trying to get some private time in, and when I finished up, instead of the usual load, I get this... stuff instead!" You try to indicate the weird goop, stammering a bit as you wave your hands down at it. It takes a moment before what you just admitted to registers in your mind, a slight blush appearing on your face.
"You... You expect me to believe that? That somehow, this kind of demonic-looking stuff just started coming out of you now?"
"Y-yeah... I... Um... I hadn't in a while, since the year started... So I don't know exactly when... when this... started happening...
"Seriously? Your first time jerking off since you stared here? How have you not gone crazy from holding it in?" Both you and Elena suddenly snap towards the floor, both looking towards the goat. Manny's clutching a rather large wound across his chest and one of his arms, but his mood certainly didn't seem to fit with the severity of the injury. The guy's chuckling quietly, only stopping to give a wince and re-adjust the hand on his wound. But despite how serious it felt, you could only blush deeper. If not for the situation, you'd probably be slinking back under the sheets right now.
"Not the time, Manny!" Elena hisses at her brother, rolling her eyes before turning back to you. She turns her eyes back to you, the sword is still pointed to you. Thankfully, she's at least pulled about a foot away from your head. "So, you swear, this is new to you?"
"Of course it is! Hell, I need a doctor or something, don't I?"
Elena shakes her head. "Not a doctor.. At least, not if it's anything like what I think it is..." You sigh in relief as she drops the sword, only to shout again the moment she grabs the corners of your sheets, tugging them right off and dragging them along.
"W-what are you doing?" You shout as you try to cover yourself up, completely exposed to Elena and Manny. Manny's eyeing you right now and gives a slight whistle, but Elena just brushes you off.
"Need to have someone check this out." She grunts and starts to haul it out the door, turning to Manny on her way out. "I'll grab a few things from the car and be back in a few minutes. Keep your eyes on him, okay?"
"Hey, relax, Elena!" Manny tries to slump himself up against the side of his bed, the furniture creaking as he pushes his weight against it. "He's been my roommate since the start of the year, remember! Don't worry so much!" The cat gives a wave with her free hand as she passes through the doorway, and in a few moments, you're left alone, stark naked in a room with an enormous goat dripping blood down his front. "So..."
"Um..." You awkwardly shuffle along, trying to at least get on some underwear. Your face is completely red, wondering what Manny was thinking now. "So... You two... What, fight zombies or something? That what you guys are busy with all the time?" You say, half jokingly.
"Demons, actually." You turn in time to see a slight grin on his face, his eyes looking right at you.
"S-seriously? They're a thing?" You blink a little, not quite sure what you're supposed to believe. Your mind's a jumble of thoughts, and it's all you can do to try to play it off. "And here I thought you just liked chasing some tail... Best I explanation I could think of for why you'd head out so late all the time."
"No, just half the time," He says, giving a grin and a wink. You can feel your face only growing redder as you turned away, fumbling for a shirt.
"Ugh... Should've seen that coming... Are you going to be okay, though? I mean, it looks like you're still bleeding pretty ba-aack!" You jump as you feel a sudden splash of water covering you, dripping onto the ground. You try to shake off some of the water, trying to figure where it's coming from. You turn in time to see Elena holding something, her eyes still on you. "What the hell, Elena, I just dressed!"
"Just had to be sure of something." She briefly says, watching you for a few moments expectantly. It's a few seconds before she gives a nod and a small sigh. "Okay... So you're safe right now. That's good." She then turns to Manny, pouring a bit of water onto his wound. He winces, but receives a small bop on the head. "Oh, suck it up. It hurt more when you took that cut." It's a surprisingly short time before she's done, giving the bandages a final inspection. "Okay. That should do it. I'm gonna go send those sheets to someone who's better at identifying that stuff. Until we get some news back, you keep an eye on your roommate. He didn't react to the holy water, but it doesn't hurt to be careful," She says, half to him and half to you. "It should only take them a few days... A week, tops."
You blink, still trying to make sense of things. "Wait... What? Why do you need-"
"I have to get going now. I'll explain later. Just don't ask Manny too much, okay? He never studied enough to learn some important details." She starts to step out before finally turning back, looking right at you. "Oh, and... Sorry about the whole sword and splashing thing. I'll... Um... If you end up in the clear, I'll see you in class next week, alright?" With that, you're left, still dripping water onto the ground, a swirl of confusion filling your head.
"So... What just happened?" You ask, looking towards Manny. You expect a response, but instead, you only get a snore. Somehow, the goat's already asleep, crumpled up and muttering something into his mattress.
You can only sigh and shake your head. Under normal circumstances, you'd probably want to take a look over the goat. But the last few minutes have left your mind reeling. You're too nervous to wake him right now, so you just look for another change of clothing before trying to head to bed.
__________
"Up and at 'em, Paul!"
You nearly jump out of your bed as you hear a booming voice come from right next to your bed. You turn in time to see Manny's happy expression. You mumble as you try to turn towards the clock. It had only been three hours of sleep for you... The confusion of last night and the lack of sheets made for a rather uncomfortable night.
"Manny... It's too early right now... What is it?" You try to shake off your sleep, and manage to focus on him. He's barely dressed, with a plain tank top and his undergarments on at the moment. His bandages are still rather obvious, and you're a little impressed that he's able to move without wincing or showing any discomfort.
"Well... Elena told me to keep an eye on you over the next couple of days, right?" He nearly hauls you off the bed, placing you firmly on your feet.
"Yeah... What about it?" You shake off a brief feeling of vertigo, trying to turn up to look at the goat. Your knees are still a little wobbly, but you at least manage to stay upright.
"Well, I wanted to head out for something, but Elena would never stop bugging me if I left you alone right now..." He rolls his eyes and shrugs. "Paranoid, I guess. Still, better do what she says..." He pauses for a moment, turning back to you before he breaks into a smile. "So, I figured..." Your mind goes momentarily blank when he suggests...
