No one in the story (third person)

6 1/2 year old Monica had always been small for her age.
She stood a mere 2 ft 9 inches.
That would one day change though.



A truck carrying a vial of an alien virus had a wreck.
The vial flew out and shattered the virus landed in her milkshake.
It blended in perfectly.
She drank the remains of her shake then joined her family and the crowds in checking out the wreck.


This virus thankfully was harmless to the host and in fact beneficial.
However what few humans yet knew was certain things from earth would cause a reaction.
So far scientists studying it determined earth's atmosphere was a trigger.
They However were unaware that certain vitamins, minerals and even sunlight triggered it as well.


What did the virus do?
Well as Monica and her family will soon learn it causes the infected life form to experience growth spurts.
It only appears to increase their size, strength, immunity and stamina but more testing was needed.


The effects seem to last indefinitely until cured.


Monica's family takes her home unaware of what's about to happen.
