This choice: You get a visit from James. • Go Back... "Hey, little bro." Teasing, James said. "Or should I call you cousin Jessie for now?"
You frowned, irritated. "I take it dad filled you in on his little joke?"
James sighed, closing the bedroom door. "It's one of many necessary safeguards when running a test." Serious, he said. "Never test anyone without informing one other family member and having a doctor on standby in case of an injury."
"A doctor?" Nervous, you asked.
James chuckled. "Relax, bro." Calmly, he said. "It's just a precaution. No one knows how one will react when they are transformed. I must say, you are far more collective than we had calculated."
"You and dad planned this?" Fuming, you asked.
"Temper, Jessie." Frowning, James warned. "First, chaotic energy is augmented by strong emotions. Second, remember dad's gentleman rule."
"Changing me into a guy is hardly the act of a gentleman." Folding your arms, you argued.
"It was hardly lady like of you to go to dad after I said I was not ready to tell anyone anything yet." Softly, James countered. "Also, your little tantrum moved us to act before your brothers, Tex and Matt decided to investigate."
You pouted. "So what am I supposed to do?" Worried, you asked. "I live here but I'm being treated as an outsider, made to sleep in the guest room."
"It could have gone down a lot worse, Jessica." Using your real name, James stated. "You could have ended up as young as six, playing with action figures along side Matt." He sighed. "To answer your question, just lay low and don't say anything to give away your true identity. Also, be certain you are home before the time limit expires."
"Why?" Curious, you asked.
James grinned. "Would you rather change back into your female self at the mall or in front of your friends Tonya or Jack?"
You quickly shook your head. "No. I'll make sure I'm home."
James smiled. "This is just the tip of the iceberg... cousin." Kindly, he said. "Don't rush things or you will regret it later. Everything in due time."
With that, he opened the door and walked out as Tex walked in. "Are you up to doing some fishing, Jessie?" Kindly, he asked. "There is a great place by the river at the back end of our property."
You sighed, not really wanting to go outside as a boy but you did not want to raise any suspicions either. Finally, you replied...
