Chapter #4Mountain Lioness by: atc You just stood there, mouth hanging open a bit. There was a large bipedal cougar girl standing in front of you, in a school uniform no less, looking rather cross at you.
You were frozen hard this time. The seemingly logical part of your brain wanted to flee in response to being two feet away from a dangerous predator. The rest was just struck dumb from the sheer oddity of the situation.
Out the corner of your eye you could see other students shuffling past, paying this surreal encounter with no more than a few disapproving glances. Why wasn't anyone doing anything?!
"What's the matter? Has it been so long you don't recognize me?"
That was Selena's voice.
Looking closer, that was Selena's wavy black hair. Those were her sparkling green eyes.
And that was clearly the locket you'd gotten her for her birthday, but instead of a chain, it was now set on a black, collar-like choker tight around her cream-colored throat.
"S-Selena?"
Two pointy ears poked out from her shiny black hair and twitched slightly at errant hallway sounds.
She had two little black stripes curving up each side of her muzzle.
You wanted to say something, anything, but the words just wouldn't come out.
Her ears flattened in embarrassment.
"What is it? Do I have something on my face?"
She crossed her eyes toward the nose on the end of her muzzle and dabbed her thick, paw-like hands at the imagined mess on her face.
"Er... I... I mean..." was all you could sputter out before Selena remembered what she came here for. She wrapped her fuzzy, black-tipped fingers around your wrist and gave you a tug.
"Come with me."
.....
The school kept the lights off in the gym as much as possible to save money, so it was still dark this early in the morning. The dim light from the exit signs was apparently enough for Selena to see by as she lead you by the hand to a secluded spot behind the bleachers.
Your mind was reeling. Was this really Selena? What happened? And how? And what was she planning to do with you?
Selena turned back toward you. Her green eyes gave off an eerie glow as they caught glints of what little light there was in the empty gymnasium.
"You know Saturday was our six month anniversary, right?"
"Selena, I..."
Before you could voice any of your... many, many objections, Selena placed a thick, furred finger up to your mouth to silence you. You could feel a sharp claw slightly scratching the top of your lip.
"I actually don't mind that you didn't remember, but I am sad I didn't get to give you your gift."
Before you could even think of something to say, she grabbed you by the shoulders and pulled you in close, pressing her muzzle to your lips.
Her tongue had a weird, rough texture as it pushed between your teeth.
Your brain was screaming in thirty different directions at once. In the end, you decided to do the one thing that makes sense in this situation and kissed her back.
Selena responded as you leaned into her, feeling the sharp pin pricks of her teeth as your tongue slid past them.
As Selena closed her eyes, you could hear a soft purr rumbling in her chest.
